Unless you live in Antarctica, you’ll know that Glee is getting its Grease on this Thursday. But just in case you’re that one person who missed the memo, Fox has released yet another promo video for this week’s episode, “Glease.”
This extended preview mainly features the performance of “Greased Lightning,” sung by Glee Project winner Blake Jenner as sophomore Ryder Lynn. The performance – just like in the movie – appears to take place switching between a normal auto shop and a white fantasy world, and, if we’re interpreting Chord Overstreet – whose character Sam will play Kenickie in McKinley’s musical – correctly, the car they got to use is the actual one from the movie! If this is accurate, the car joins the ranks of the Venice High School bleachers – the original Rydell High filming location – and the illuminated Saturday Night Fever dancefloor as original props that both John Travolta and the Glee cast have writhed all over.
The video also gives us a little visual hint of what we can expect from the Glee performances of “Beauty School Dropout” – Vanessa Lengies is a dead ringer for Didi Conn’s Frenchy – “Look At Me, I’m Sandra Dee,” and “You’re The One That I Want,” showing new McKinley leading lady Marley Rose in the same updo and catsuit that Rachel Berry once wore back in season 1.
