Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson star in the gender-bent remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which has received the very relevant title Nasty Women.
Female-led remakes is always a welcome way to shake up the dynamics considering that Hollywood is hell-bent on redoing its entire catalog anyway.
The 1988 comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine is not exempt from the remake train, and its updated version will star Rebel Wilson, with Anne Hathaway in talks to join her as the second lead character.

Another change comes via its title: The Hollywood Reporter can reveal that the movie is called Nasty Women, which is not only a gender-specific way of saying ‘dirty rotten scoundrels,’ but a direct reference to imminent President Donald Trump’s derogatory comments about Hillary Clinton.
In the original story, the two male characters made a bet about who could swindle a young American heiress out of her inheritance. Nasty Women will see Hathaway and Wilson’s characters teaming up to con a tech prodigy.
