It looks like Deadpool is living up to the hype.
The first screenings of the new Ryan Reynolds super hero movie took place Monday night, and the reviews of Deadpool are glowing.
The Walking Dead comic creator Robert Kirkman was one of the lucky few who saw the film and offered some of the highest praise:
Saw #deadpool tonight. This movie cannot be over-hyped! It's flawless. Pure @robertliefeld on screen. #TimMiller shows us how it's done.

We are entering the A.D. era of superhero movies. There were movies before Deadpool… But now, things will be different. Game changer.

.@deadpoolmovie has the best credits sequence I've seen in years. You know from minute one that it's going to be a hilarious movie.

I'd compare it to Shaun Of The Dead. Great, dramatic horror movie, that is also hilarious. @deadpoolmovie is the same for superheroes.

But it wasn’t just the Hollywood elite who saw the film yesterday. Fans (and some media, and some social media stars) attended special preview screenings in New York and Los Angeles. The latter city had Ryan Reynolds and the cast in attendance for a Q&A:
#Deadpool is so freaking drop dead awesomeness. Why did I use those words together well cause I just died #Vsauce pic.twitter.com/mcSxjVS0Ko

This #deadpool fan's happy. Really fun movie. Overall plot's standard, but consistently strong comedy, fan service & action overshadow that.

Just saw early screening of Deadpool. The movie is fucking amazing. Everything I was hoping for from the Merc with a Mouth! #deadpool

We’re glad it’s living up to the hype. After all of those excellent trailers and posters, it’d be a shame for the movie to be a letdown.
Deadpool opens in theaters February 14.
