A new report from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has actress Jena Malone possibly playing a female Robin in Warner Bros.’ new film.
Update: THR has confirmed that Malone is in the film, but that her role remains unknown.
Jena Malone was seen on the set of Batman v Superman in Detroit over the last few months, and two weeks ago she posted a picture of herself with red hair on Instagram. What’s interesting is she said, “Drastic times call for drastic measures.”
This could be a hint that she’ll be playing a role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as she’s a friend of director Zack Snyder. She was in Sucker Punch, which Snyder also directed, and it seems they’re friends on some level.
According to a local report, Robin will be making an appearance in the already superhero-stuffed Batman v Superman as Carrie Kelly, and a female Robin with red hair would certainly be possible considering it’s been in the comics.

While the news reporter who reported this rumor simply says that Robin will make an appearance in Batman v Superman, there are a few hints that Jena Malone could make an appearance as a female Robin in the film.
There are also some new reports from someone who was an extra on the film, but it should be noted that they are being sued by Warner Bros. for breaching a signed non-disclosure agreement.
For now it’s just a massive rumor that Malone will make an appearance as Robin, but the reports are starting to pile up, and it wouldn’t surprise us if Snyder decides to include his actor friend in his latest superhero film.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is currently filming, and will be released on March 25, 2016. Jena Malone can be seen next in The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay, Part 1 November 21.
