Lucifer season 1, episode 6, “Favorite Son,” airs tonight, and things are certainly heating up for several of the characters!
Last week on Lucifer, the Lord of Hell became a consultant for the LAPD, much to Detective Decker’s annoyance. This week, her opinion hasn’t changed too much, and many of the previous issues she’s had with the way Lucifer works have once again reared their ugly heads.
The synopsis for “Favorite Son” reads, “Lucifer bails on Chloe when he becomes bored with her investigation into a ruthless biker gang murder. However, when he discovers something was stolen during the crime that was very personal to him, he demands that Chloe let him rejoin the case.”
Our Lucifer teasers for episode 6 are:
- Lucifer shows off a hidden talent: Let’s just say that the episode opens on a powerful number with the Devil himself behind a piano and mic, and it is not an unwelcome sight in the least. This is clearly also a God-given talent.
- Chloe admits something big: I wouldn’t say it’s shocking, but it certainly has an impact on the person she’s speaking to. It’s a heartfelt confession, and I’m genuinely proud that she made it. How this will effect the relationship between her and another character is anyone’s guess.
- Linda tries something new: Amenadiel continues to speak into Linda’s ear, offering words of wisdom for her continuing interactions with Lucifer. He’s clearly manipulating her, but it isn’t without good intentions, or so I hope. (I’m getting Manny from Constantine vibes from him.) What Linda brings up with Lucifer allows us a deeper look into his persona and how he views himself.
- Lucifer is the victim of a criminal act: We know something is stolen from him as per the synopsis, but what is missing is clearly near and dear to his heart. The usual blasé attitude he carries is replaced with a kind of angry desperation we have rarely seen on him.
- Maze teams up with someone unexpected: Someone more unexpected than Amenadiel? Perhaps! She decides to “help” one of the other characters on the show, though this person doesn’t exactly receive it well. It makes for a hilarious scene, however, and I can’t help but wonder if this could lead to more awkward moments down the road.
