Elementary season 3 reunites Watson and Holmes in New York, but who else will be joining the team this season? Find out everything we know so far about season 3!
Returning favorites, new cast members, and a slew of interesting cases are on the docket for Elementary‘s third season. We’ve rounded up all the insider tidbits to get your brains back into deductive reasoning shape after an extended hiatus from season 2.
What we know:
Mrs. Hudson returns!
Worried you won't see Ms. Hudson this season? Don't be. #elementary pic.twitter.com/73l5jrylJl

Ms. Hudson (Candis Cayne) will be back in the brownstone for season 3, hopefully for more than a quick dusting!
CBS clings to ‘Thursday Night Football’

Special guest star, Phil Simms, will appear early this season as himself. The only difference is instead of passing a football or talking stats, he’ll offer Sherlock an expert consult for a skill he hides from the wide world of sports.
Holmes and Waston, who?
Raise your hand if you'd like to see Clyde the Turtle in Season Three! pic.twitter.com/M9RApJZe66

Perhaps the most anticipated character return of the season is Clyde the turtle. While Sherlock was away, we can confirm that Joan made sure he was well taken care of. Perhaps a custody battle is in the works for season 3?
Joan is not quite alone:

Joan not only landed herself some new digs, but she also secured a man, or two, going into season 3. Raza Jaffrey (Smash) will play Andrew and is described as “the anti-Sherlock, an oasis of normalcy in a life that is still rife with strangeness and drama.” Sherlock is going to have some fun breaking apart this guy!
A blast from the past is also in store for Joan this season. Christian Camargo (Dexter) will arrive in the season’s seventh episode as an ex-boyfriend and medical colleague. If the rumor mill is true, the two will have some old feelings to work through during the course of the investigation. That does not bode well for Andrew.
Dapper, but not happy:
Quite a dapper day on set. Sherlock wears a tie, Bell sports his dress blues. pic.twitter.com/DfVuhz4xYD

Detective Bell and Sherlock may look great in their formal wear, but this attire is anything but dressing the part just to solve a case. You may notice that Detective Bell’s dress blues come complete with a black ribbon covering his badge. The ribbon is traditionally worn as a sign of respect and mourning for a fallen officer. Judging by Sherlock’s tie, the team are fresh from a funeral.
Alfredo makes a comeback!

Noticeably absent for quiet some time, fans can rest assured that their favorite sponsor will be reunited with Holmes once again! We are hopeful that Sherlock left word with Alfredo prior to his departure for England.
An irregular return:

Last seen in season 2, the shirtless mathematician, Harlan Emple (Rich Sommer, Mad Men) comes back into Sherlock’s focus when he finds himself to be a key component in a case. As the for the shirtless math… well, we wouldn’t want anything to come between a man and his numbers. Jacob Pitts (Justified) will also guest star in this episode as Paul Ladesma.
