Last night Marvel had an early screening of Guardians of the Galaxy for a select audience and Hypable was at the event which has fans raving about the new film.
Guardians of the Galaxy will be hitting theaters on August 1, and the studio had an early screening for the interesting space opera last night. The response has been incredibly positive, with a few opinions suggesting that we’re in for one wild ride.
Hypable’s own Andrew Sims was at the event and said, “Guardians of the Galaxy is fantastic. The shining stars are a tree and a raccoon,” after leaving the early screening.
Others have had a similar response to the Guardians’ screening, continuing to mention Groot and Rocket Raccoon as the film’s standout characters. Groot is voiced by Vin Diesel and Rocket Raccoon by Two-time Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is pretty damn irresistible. Unerring balance of comedy, action and Groot. Had a blast with it.

Weird thing: while GUARDIANS has the most Thanos-wank yet it's the Marvel movie that stands most on its own. It feels whole.

Marvel’s @Guardians is magnificent. Hilarious, touching, action packed, I don’t think I could’ve liked it more. @JamesGunn killed it. Wow.

It certainly seems that director James Gunn has nailed his first film with Marvel and possibly more surprising is the fact that everyone seems to think Groot was the highlight of the film. Odd considering he simply repeats “I am Groot” throughout the film, but we imagine the combination of Groot and Rocket makes for some epic scenes.
Marvel is ramping up its promotion for Guardians of the Galaxy as it heads closer to its world premiere on August 1. We’ve gotten some incredible posters from the film this past week which featured Doctor Who actress Karen Gillan as Nebula and Lee Pace as the film’s villain.
Guardians of the Galaxy’s previous trailer gave us some great looks at Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana, and more importantly, showed us quite a bit more of Bradley Cooper voicing Rocket Raccoon.
Marvel obviously knew that Rocket Raccoon and Groot would be a hit, which is why we’ve seen so much promotion including the unique tag team.
Guardians of the Galaxy’s release date is set for August 1, 2014. Featuring an intergalactic group of Guardians, led by Star-Lord, they make a desperate stand to save the galaxy.
Two-time Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper voices the machine-gun-wielding Rocket Raccoon and is joined by Vin Diesel as the tree-like Groot, with Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan and Dave Bautista filling out the leading roles.
