The guys teach Penny the ways of the Force in a new sneak peek from The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 22.
As though the writers anticipated this week’s galaxy-shaking announcement, The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 22 will focus on the theatrical wonder that is Star Wars. The episode, titled “The Proton Transmogrification,” will also feature the return of television legend Bob Newhart as Sheldon’s idol, Professor Proton.
A new sneak peek from The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 22 does not feature the venerable professor, but the clip does feature Leonard and Raj schooling Penny in the ways of the Force.
Well… sort of.
In the new sneak peek from “The Proton Transmogrification,” Sheldon prods the gang to begin establishing their plans for the upcoming Star Wars Day. Leonard and Raj explain the significance of May 4 to Penny (“May the Fourth Be With You” and all that hilarious jazz) but her incredulity turns out to be a side effect of understanding – not a lack thereof.
The preview and stills for The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 22 give a further look at tomorrow night’s episode, and Bob Newhart’s role – which may not be quite what we all expected.
That role is elaborated upon somewhat in the official synopsis for “The Proton Transmogrification,” which also offers a hint at what Amy and Bernadette will be up to tomorrow night.
Professor Proton helps Sheldon cope with grief, while Leonard turns a relationship milestone into a competition with Penny. Meanwhile, Amy and Bernadette make a “Star Wars Day” gift for the guys.
We aren’t entirely sure what “grief” the synopsis is referring to… but we deeply hope this doesn’t mean that Professor Proton has become one with the Force.
The Big Bang Theory season 7, episode 22, “The Proton Transmogrification,” will air on Thursday, May 1 at 8:00 p.m. on CBS.
