For the first time, fans can bid on a visit to the set of HBO’s Game of Thrones in support of the theatrical arts.
Game of Thrones co-creator David Benioff is offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience for fans of HBO’s epic fantasy series. Benioff and HBO are auctioning off an exciting visit to the Northern Ireland set of Game of Thrones during filming of the upcoming fifth season.

Fans of the show can bid on the hour-long set tour at Charity Buzz. Following the tour, which will provide an unprecedented behind-the-scenes experience, the winner (and, if they so choose, a very lucky guest) (call me) will meet with David Benioff. The auctioneers tease that “Benioff may even share some trade secrets about his vision for the next two seasons,” during the tour. Even barring such an exciting development though, the winner will have the chance to discuss the production process, share theories, and just hang out with the co-creator and show runner of Game of Thrones.
The tour, which will be scheduled between August and November, is valued at an estimated $5,000. Only three days into the bidding, the price has already crept up to nearly double that amount, and hopeful winners have until April 30 to try for the prize.
David Benioff and HBO have donated the set tour in support of the Epic Theater Ensemble, an educational theater company based in New York City. The company aims to “create bold work with and for diverse communities that promotes vital discourse and social change.”
Game of Thrones season 4, episode 3, “Breaker of Chains,” will air this Sunday at 9:00 p.m. on HBO.
