If you were a fan of the 2007 ABC series Pushing Daisies, then it’s time to rejoice! Even after its unfair cancelation by ABC, it looks like the series is coming back in another form.

Pushing Daisies show creator Bryan Fuller has announced that he’s hoping to bring the cast back for a project or two.

Fuller states in the interview, “I’ve had conversations very recently with Barry Sonnenfeld about financing a film, and with Kristin Chenoweth and Warner Brothers about developing a stage musical.”

Additionally, Fuller said that some sort of revival is also on its way: “We’re working on something that is definitely a Pushing Daisies revival, and the idea would be to have as many cast as we can to participate in it.”

We’re hoping that they’ll be able to get the full cast to return, which includes Lee Pace, Kristen Chenoweth, Anna Friel, Ellen Greene, Chi McBride, Swoosie Kurtz, and maybe even Jim Dale as the narrator.

Pushing Daisies only lasted two seasons before it was canceled by ABC, having been affected by the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike. The first season only completed nine episodes because of the strike, the last of which Fuller had changed to serve as a season cliffhanger.

In its run on television, Pushing Daisies was nominated for 17 Emmy Awards, of which they won seven, including Chenoweth’s Outstanding Supporting Actress in a comedy series win.

Do you want a ‘Pushing Daisies’ movie or musical?

HOLY FUCKING SHIT GUYS. WHAT? YES! YES! YES! (yes capslock is necessary) MY WHOLE LIFE I HAVE BEEN WAITING. THAT’S AN EXAGGERATION. BUT OH MY FUCKING GOD. OF ALL THE THINGS TO COME BACK, THIS ACTUALLY DESERVES IT.

*deep breaths* I am slightly calmer now (on the outside). Although it would be an amazing musical, There’s a 99% chance I wouldn’t be able to go due to money/distance issues. So I think a movie would be best. Or have the musical available to watch online after the fact. I just want something I can access and see. And if they can manage to get Lee Pace, Anna Friel, and Christen Chenowerth together for this, there is no point in making it. It needs to be a majority of the original cast or it’s just not the same.

    • SpaMan

Dreamer, I love the show too but you need help. And just because you lack an adequate vocabulary to be able to properly express your emotions, watch your mouth. There are humans on this site.

      • isthisrob

        Lighten up, Francis.

        • SpaMan

Okay… made me laugh. Sorry for the rant.

  • Janice

Any sort of Pushing Daisies revival would be awesome. But I wish they’d do a Netflix series a la Arrested Development.

    • http://sourmeow.tumblr.com/ Cat Lemonade

      ^ This! SO much!

    • Nonny

Yes!! Netflix gives so much creative freedom. Short of a pay cable budget, it’s the best place for new tv.

    • Ryan Deadpooln

I heard good things and didn’t watch it while it was on tv. I’m hoping it goes to Netflix soon as well.

  • Grace

HALLELEUJAH. Seriously, this is phenomenal. This was right up there with Firefly for most unfairly cancelled shows.

  • Glaciusx

First Veronica Mars and now this? Am I dreaming?!

    • humanbeing

It’s really amazing how many shows have been brought back from the dead lately, in one form or another. When I was younger, if a show was cancelled, it was gone, done for; but today networks take into account fan support on the Internet, DVD sales, all kinds of other incentives to bring a beloved series back. Family Guy was brought back from cancellation (twice, if I remember correctly), Arrested Development was brought back in Netflix form, Veronica Mars in film form (and Firefly, too), and now Pushing Daisies? It’s all extremely cool.

  • Dwtootles

Sounds like the next Rewatchable Podcast show is waiting to be rewatched

  • Elphaba Thropp

I had to check to make sure it’s not April first!!

  • Imogen McFarlane

Yes! Finally! Pushing Daisies really needs some loving, it was such an amazing show. Sweet, whimsical, funny, with incredible sets and costumes – its one of my favourite shows that I watch over and over. I was hoping this would happen now that Lee Pace is a bit more in the spotlight.. :) Though a film or more episodes would be best for those of us living in Australia..

  • TtheOneAndOnlyCliche

I do recall it being said – by Fuller, I think – that because his shows are based in the same universe (I could be misremembering, but I’m quite confident that I’m not), he hoped to bring characters from Pushing Daises to Hannibal, and have a reunion of sorts there. Which sounds amazing, when there seem to be so few other options, but the idea of them making a made-for-TV movie, or mini-series, or SOMEthing, is just so wonderful. There were so many loose ends to tie up, with both Chuck and Ned’s fathers, Emerson and his daughter, the aunts’ relationship, and their reaction to Chuck being alive, and gosh but I need more of Olive Snook bursting out into renditions of well-knowns songs, with infrequent interruptions by characters who should definitely be letting her have her moment, you guys.
This show is so deserving of a revival of some sort, a continuation, and certainly a conclusion. It’s part of a long list including Firefly, Veronica Mars, The Middleman and Reaper, of shows that deserved more time and love, and that I miss terribly.

    • ABrine

That would be so good, the Piemaker and Emerson Cod on the case of one of Hannibal’s victims.

  • Maggie

*The Noise I just made wasn’t human*

OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EXCUSE ME WHILE I CAPSLOCK

YES YES YES PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN!!! OMG I MISSED PUSHING DAISIES SO MUCH!!!

I REALLY, REALLY HOPE THEY GET ALL OF THEM TOGETHER

I SPECIALLY MISSED THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN LEE PACE/ANNA FRIEL

  • christi-anne Mbe

Ooo I loved that show. So stoked. Isn’t it nice when things just work out.

  • brihannah

Doesn’t seem like a very reliable source, more like a recycled news story with a twist of a musical. Let’s not forget the Pushing Daises Comic Book but a movie would definitely satisfy me for one but I don’t think it’s closer yet. Bryan is in a better place though for him to get financing for it down the line with him doing Hannibal

  • Carilyn

I feel like I heard about this some time ago, so I’m not sure how “new” this is, but I’m glad he’s still pursuing it – I would love a Pushing Daisies musical! The world from the show is already so bright and inclined to outbursts of song!

  • christi-anne Mbe

I’M IN A GLASS FULL OF EMOTIONS. OMG

  • likac05

Will they be able to persuade Lee Pace to play Ned again? He’s been very busy lately…

  • Evelyn

I’m ridiculously excited about this like you don’t even understand!!!!!

  • El

    OH GOD YES YES YES!!

  • Annie

If it doesn’t have Jim Dale, then it isn’t worth listening to. He’s the bomb!!

    Oh, movie please.

  • taylore

    BEST NEWS EVER!

  • M. Gabriela Sosa

This made my day. Yes, yes, yes…..Although, if the original cast doesn’t come back, they should’t make it. It’s either all of them back or don’t even bother. It just wouldn’t work.

  • Amy

    PLEASE A MUSICAL YES

  • 7Starrchasers

Omg i think im going to cry.

  • girlonfire12

OH MY GOSH I LOVE PUSHING DAISIES SO MUCHHH I CANT EVEN

  • Crocaducky

    This better happen. ASAP.

  • Andrew-James Jenkins

THE GODS HAVE LOOKED ON US WITH PITY

  • ABrine

So good first Veronica and now Pushing Daisies, my dreams are coming true (now all I need is for Farscape to come back). By the way I’ve been thinking for a while that Pushing Daisies should be the next rewatchable anyone else agree.

  • ABrine

Wait! What about a film musical.

  • RachelD

    I WANT ALL THE THINGS

  • Zedith Starr

    YESSSS!

  • Amir

    NETFLIX REVIVAL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • iscahmckrae

Revival of the series in any way, shape, or form…just PLEEEEEEEEEAAAASSSSE accessible to everyone. I need to be able to SEEEE it even if I can’t get to Broadway! Oh, this is so wonderful!

  • Arkimedes Katt

I got so happy when I read this article! Great idea! :D

  • Karen Baird

Oh how I would love to see this show return. Absolutely loved it and was crushed when it was cancelled. Please do bring it back. Great entertainment!

  • Shawn Allen

    Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
    Did I mention, YES!
Can we get Wonderfalls, too? PLEASE!!??

  • Kat

Good news!!! The only way it would work is to have the original cast including the narrator!!!!! I would love to see it as a movie or a netflix series like Arrested Development!!

  • viettriet

I loved this series so much and I’m excited to hear that Fuller has been working on that! (I also agree it should return to Netflix for people to spend extra quality time with the show!)

  • Channing

Please, please, PLEASE let this work out!!!

  • kteelee

I hate to be the bearer of bad news here because I wanted this to happen as much as anyone else… but if you follow Hypable’s source link, it takes you to a Broadway World article, and if you follow THEIR source links it takes you to an i09 article which is based on an interview from TV Line. This is all well and good except the TV Line interview and the i09 article are from 2012. BWW must’ve somehow thought it was new news and then Hypable just ran with it and no one bothered to check their sources and we all got excited for nothing. :(

    • HypableUser

That’s true but just last year Fuller tweeted about a possible Kickstarter campaign for Daisies. He isn’t giving up the ghost – or alive again person – so I feel neither should we :)

    • fruttivendolo

I checked Bryan Fuller’s Twitter to see if he said anything about it. He didn’t address that particular Broadway World article, but he did retweet Hypable’s other article on the topic- the one with five options for a Pushing Daisies revival. At the beginning of that article, it links to this one, quotes Fuller, and mentions that a revival is currently in the works. I’d be surprised if Fuller promoted an article that had false information in it about something as big as a Daisies revival. So hopefully that means this news is true!

  • Zoe

Given that it is obviously not 2007 anymore, I don’t know how great this will be. When I look back, everything was so different, especially how shows were made. A revival now will probably take this show on a different direction and it might take all the magic of Pushing Daisies and make it all dissipate.

  • ppp

No musical! Show is the best way to revive it, but if not then a movie will suffice. NO MUSICAL

    • humanbeing

      NO CAPES!

  • SmartKat

I want a series! Something I can look forward to watching every week!

    • Rachel

      Agreed!

  • Kim

Ineed this. This show wasso wrongfully cancelled and we must touch it again to bring it back from the dea… just don’t touch it again or… deaf.. forever. ;)

  • Kim

    P.s. sorry for the typos…

  • girlonfire12

I really hope they’re explain what was up with Ned’s dad!!! *camera zooms in on Ned’s dad* “It was the pie maker’s.” *FANDOM SHRIEKS*

  • Rachel

Movie or a continuation of the TV series (even if it’s online) only because I really want the original cast and visual effects. Also, sometimes I feel like the songs in musicals are a little contrived and I’d rather continue more of what we had before especially because it got cut so short.

  • HypableUser

This makes me very happy. NO TO NETFLIX though. I am not and never will be a user of that so I’d hate to be excluded. It really will make me happy HOWEVER, I’m dreading it succumbing to tumblr teen fangirls :( That’s not what this show is for.

  • HypableUser

    I’d love some comics/graphic novels

  • Chris

Best news I’ve heard all day.

  • Nicholus C. Steffen

    hell yes

  • Jack

    YESSSS!

  • inchworm

OF COURSE I WANT A PUSHING DAISIES MOVIE OR MUSICAL shiet i’ll work for free as a gopher on set if it’ll put more money towards production of another one of Fuller’s visual masterpieces

  • Diego Galvan

I’m hopelessly devoted to you! Eternal flame! Would luv to see the whole cast together again! Definitely Lee Pace! His previous work led me to Pushing Daisies where I fell in luv with Bryan Fuller and have been a fan of his work since then. Based on the movie made for Dead Like Me I would not look forward to a movie. It seemed so rushed and kinda b movie compared to the show. I would hate to see that happen to Pushing Daisies. I’d rather wait till they can all get together and can afford to bring it back to life as another season. If they did get on Netflix i would binge.

  • SpaMan

PLEASE !!! Great theme for a TV show. It should still be on !!! Stupid network ! They show that crap Bachelor show with those idgits but cancel this one??? A bunch of losers running that network…

  • Joselle

OH MY GOODNESS Yes please please please revive it! It was a show that was amazingly unique it it’s style and presentation!

  • Rimshoot

I hate it when a show is really good and no one watches it. I hope it goes better this time.

  • annaflixion

oh my god, this is the best news I’ve heard so far this year!

  • George Edward Purdy

Fuller is a genius. Wonderfalls was great too. Some visionary network exec should just give the man free reign to do whatever he wants regardless of ratings.

  • Timothy

I’d like a movie, personally. But anything is fine with me! I’d really just prefer a movie, just cause y’know.

  • Sharan

we all need to make sure that ned doesn’t touch this show for a second time otherwise it’ll be gone for good!

  • http://curiouspawn.wordpress.com/ Steph

    Yes please!!!

  • Dan

    movie!

  • SierraNodre

Agreed! Netflix original series comeback with full cast!

  • Chris Hayes

I want more Pushing Daisies! Netflix, network, or online… however it happens. For me, this show is one of the most creative shows ever to appear on TV – IT DESERVES MORE!!!

  • MELODY

DEAR GOD YES PLEASE BRING IT BACK WITH THE ORIGINAL CAST. PLEASE. LITERALLY NO SHOW DESERVES A REVIVAL AS MUCH AS DAISIES IN MY OPINION. IT WAS AND CONTINUES TO BE ONE OF THE MOST REMARKABLE AND INNOVATIVE SHOWS EVER TO BE CREATED. JUSTICE FOR DAISIES!!!!! <3

  • Fuckyourselfanddie

People need to get over this show. If anything it was proved that this show was totally unnecessary

  • Jon

THIS_MUST_HAPPEN! Netflix revival would be amazing but anything is great! Please bring Pushing Daisies back, it’s my favorite show of ALL TIME!

  • kat1980

    Definitely a movie… perhaps a movie musical…

  • Michael Cortese

If they do a musical, hopefully they’ll make a DVD of the stage performance, since i’m overseas serving in the Navy and Looooooooooved the show. I would do anything to see a TV return or movie, but a Stage performance would be hard for me to see unless they make a DVD of it.

  • kah_cherub

I loved this one so much!!!

  • http://delhalitoapensamiento.blogspot.mx/ Victor José Luis Valencia Ambr

I want the series back, could be as a movie or keep “series”. The last episode doesn’t be so much clear, I was: “I need more episodes”
