As the Super Bowl continues this evening, we’re highlighting the best and worst commercials that air during the biggest night in sports.
The best 2014 Super Bowl commercials
Well executed and perfect for a Football loving audience, Tim Tebow stars in this commercial for T-Mobile about the joys of living life off-contract.
An interracial couple tells their daughter she’s going to be a big sister, but all she really wants is a puppy. How could you not like this one?
Disney’s latest Muppets television spot uses reviews from Twitter users who’ve seen commercials for the film, and we love the tongue-in-cheek attitude. It looks like the Twitter accounts they source are real.
This commercial – featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Don Cheadle – is so random that it’s actually decent. Bud Light ties the randomness back to their slogan.
At first, we didn’t know what to think about this commercial from Chevy. Ultimately, it’s a cute look at personifying a cow that is an eligible bachelor. Super Bowl commercials need to be weird or funny to be remembered. This one takes the former route.
The worst 2014 Super Bowl commercials
While we admire the pride for America in this commercial, what puts this one in the “worst” list is that legendary singer Bob Dylan agreed to appear in a Chrysler car commercial.
It’s not war. It’s peace. Brought to us by… Axe? If only body deodorant could truly solve the world’s problems.
We had a hard time understanding where the humor is in this commercial from Volkswagen in which we’re asked to believe that a car hitting 100,000 is worthy of earning a pair of wings.
Oscar nominee Quvenzhane Wallis stars in this commercial for Maserati. The problem? The commercial attempts to connect with the everyday person, but the ad is for a car that only the richest in America could afford.
Rob Riggle and James Franco star in a commercial for Ford that spends more time bragging about the length of the commercial than it does talking about why this particular car is worth purchasing (for reasons other than its great MPG rate).
Doritos has a history of creating great commercials, but this one isn’t a favorite of ours.
