True Blood’s final season launches this summer, but lead actor Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) may know of another Bon Temps project in the works.
Moyer attended the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival recently and spoke to a writer for The Examiner who asked him about what the future may hold for True Blood fans after the seventh and final season wraps in the middle of 2014.
The reporter specifically asked what are fans “supposed to do in summer 2015” without True Blood, and the actor replied, “I’m not sure about the summer of 2015, but if things go the way I’m hoping there will be something to watch in the summer of 2016. We’ll have an announcement about that… soonish.”
While he didn’t suggest that a True Blood movie is the project that’s in the works, it’s interesting that Moyer says there’s something for fans that they’d have to wait two years for. A movie would be the obvious guess given the time it takes to shoot a project like that.
If true, this won’t be the first time a television show has moved its story to the big screen. HBO’s own Entourage is about to begin filming a movie adaptation with its original cast members. The film has been digesting for a long time and is finally taking off after many hurdles were cleared.
True Blood season 7 premieres this summer on HBO. The first of ten episodes will be directed by Moyer.
A ‘True Blood’ movie: Is there potential here?
Thanks, Examiner.
