Liam Hemsworth was a guest on last night’s Tonight Show and debuted what is the first clip from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
In it, Gale and Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) are on the outskirts of District 12 talking together. Katniss says that she wants to run away, but Gale says that people look up to her and need her as a leader (it seems he is talking about it in regards to a rebellion). Peacekeeper vehicles drive past them, and Gale says that he’s not going anywhere despite Katniss’ warnings that they’re going to kill everyone. The clip begins at the 1 minute, 24 second mark:
Before the clip plays, Hemsworth is speaking with Tonight Show host Jay Leno, and he’s asked about what it’s like working with Lawrence on set. Hemsworth tells a funny story of how his co-star will say something ridiculous a second before the director calls action, then Lawrence will go deadpan for the scene while Hemsworth is left laughing at what just came out of her mouth.
Another new clip from Catching Fire is expected later today during a cast Q&A on Facebook at 4:45 p.m. pacific as part of what the studio is calling “Global Fan Day.” You can RSVP to the event here on Facebook. Once the clip is released outside of the live stream, we’ll share it with you. Stay tuned!
For more, check out a new TV spot in which Katniss and Gale kiss, eight new promotional stills featuring the Victory Tour, and listen to Ellie Goulding’s “Mirrors,” which is off the film’s soundtrack.
Catching Fire arrives in theaters November 22.
