The sixth season of True Blood is the show’s shortest. Previous seasons have been longer by a few episodes, but showrunners and HBO decided with season 6 to tighten up the plot line. The smaller season appears to have paid off in terms of quality. Fans are generally much happier with this season than they were with season 5. This may be thanks in part to having two showrunners helm season 6. Alan Ball, the show’s original creator, departed after last year.
HBO has greenlit the show for season 7, and we presume that it will have 10 episodes like the current run.
