Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout is the first book in The Lux series and has been optioned for a film by Sierra Pictures.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sierra Pictures will finance and produce the film adaptation of Obsidian, about a 17-year-old girl who discovers that her neighbor is anything but the normal guy next door.
Obsidian follows Katy Swartz who moves to West Virginia after her father’s death. She is an avid book blogger who happens to move next door to Daemon and Dee. They are twins who are not exactly what they seem. Daemon has little use for Katy and the banter between two is perfect for the big screen.
So now that the film has been optioned, the big question is who will play these beloved characters? We have some suggestions but feel free to add yours in the comments.
Character description: Long dark hair, gray eyes, curvy hips, puffy lips and huge eyes
Finding the right Katy is key to the story as it unfolds through her eyes. Katy needs to be sassy, smart, a little bit geeky and able to hold her own against Daemon. Here’s who we think should play Katy.
Choices for Katy: Ashley Rickards and Lucy Hale
Character description: vivid green eyes, sooty lashes, black hair, very fit, kissable lips
Daemon is a probably the most important character to cast right. The guy has to have a whole lot of swagger. He not only needs to smolder but be arrogant and endearing at the same time. There is also the need to be incredibly fit and athletic. So who do could possible be Daemon?
Choices for Daemon: Ryan Rottman and Tyler Hoechlin
Now it is your turn to tell us who you think should play Daemon and Katy as well as win a copy of each book in the Lux series including Origin. The contest is open US residents only.
