First came Divergent book 3 Allegiant’s release date, then title, and now the cover!

The Allegiant book cover can be seen below. It was originally revealed on the Today Show when author Veronica Roth appeared with Ryan Seacrest.

Divergent book 3 Allegiant cover high-res

As expected it includes an orange theme just like the teaser art we saw several months ago. We also love the blue wave on the cover.

The airport at the bottom is another intriguing choice. A few of the characters may be making some sort of escape via plane, or the storyline may have some scenes at Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

Overall it’s a very clean design with positive imagery. Do you think the cover reflects a good outcome for lead characters Tris and Four?

Hypable speaks to Veronica Roth

Hypable spoke with Roth about the title of Allegiant, designing a unique story, the Divergent movie, and MUCH more!

Allegiant will hit book store shelves October 22. Now that we’ve received the important details of the story, perhaps over the next few months, we’ll get a couple additional surprise teases.

What do you think of Allegiant’s cover and its tagline “One choice will define you”?

For reference, here are the previous two book covers:

Divergent and Insurgent book covers

While fans are looking forward to Allegiant, we’re also looking even further ahead to the Divergent movie which is currently shooting in Chicago, IL. The movie opens March 21, 2014 and stars Shailene Woodley as Tris and Theo James as Four.

Later today, we’ll have more exciting details about the Divergent movie and Allegiant book. Stay tuned!

I love it!! It’s so pretty.

  • curiouswanderingfeather

it looks cool, but i don’t think i’m crazy about it…

  • zara

I like that it is not a symbol and the picture in the bottom is a of a airport, not the city skyline. veronica manages to surprise us again.

Don’t be fooled by the bright colors and the positive imagery. We all thought the same about Mockingjay, and that book was freaking SAD.

    • Hunger-gent

Sooo true i love the hunger games series and love the divergent series<3

  • Caroline Taylor

I love it, it might be my fave one out of the 3, the blue wave is stunning!

After I read Insurgent I didn’t get why Roth had chosen the Amity symbol to be on the cover. The Amity did play a semi-important part in Insurgent but the Erudite were featured a lot more. The villain is Erudite. Caleb is Erudite. Tris and Tobias were held and tortured at Erudite. It seemed like that one should have been on the cover. Then I figured that for Allegiant the cover symbol would be the Abnegation one, since that faction has played a huge part in the entire story, as well as Tris’s life and personality. And Tobias’s, too. I was not expecting a non-faction symbol cover. I’m guessing this symbol’s got something to do with what’s outside the fences..hmm…

Anyone else reminded of the Firefox logo? No? Just me and my crazy? Okay.

    • Ann Grace

yes! haha I thought it looked familiar…

water represents rebirth, renewal and purity in many cultures. the book wll most likely focus on these three aspects.

  • Crazy-Eight23

Covers don’t really excite me. I just want what’s inside. Don’t judge a book by its cover right?..lol

All that’s missing is the detergent.

    • Madeline

      Haha love this

The water is stunning! Can’t wait to see how that airport will come into play in the book.

  • Zoe

This looks really cool! I like the contrast between the firey background and the water symbol. :)

I heard she was killing a character in this book…I really don’t want Tobias dead, there wouldn’t be a story without him…does anyone know for sure if she’s killing Four?

    • Danny Ruiz

I’m thinking she’s going to kill Caleb. I have a strong feeling he will have a significant role more than the last two. After all, if i remember correctly, I think I read somewhere that Veronica LOVES Caleb in the third book. Interesting stuff.

      • Ann Grace

I honestly don’t like Caleb as of now…I don’t know if I’ll feel THAT sorry if he dies. Don’t get me wrong, it’s super sad when you have no one left of your family with you, but he almost killed her.

  • Charles

Just saying Chicago O’Hare Airport is nowhere near the downtown Chicago area. Its about an hour away.

Well red/orange means danger, the water (blue) is mix with the orange/red. So i’m hoping for an intense book with a kinda not full happy ending?

  • Ann Grace

Who else has fallen in love with Tobias…she better not kill him or else I will like die…it’s insane how crazy we get over fictional characters, but his character is amazing. He just appears whenever Tris is close to dying, like he has this sixth sense. He keeps the main character alive.

    • Roberta Nightengale

do you think Veronica Roth wants to be brutally murdered in her sleep by thousands of teenage girls? Of course she won’t kill Tobias!… right?

      • Ann Grace

haha well, if you read the back of her books for the Q and A’s, i think, I now have reassurance that he won’t die…but don’t quote me on that.

Could the wave be a symbol for the Divergent once upon a time? Or does have to do with something over the fence?
