Check out a sneak peek and new promo released for Thursday’s The Vampire Diaries episode “The Walking Dead,” that show the return of [spoiler]!

In the sneak peek, we see Stefan and Caroline searching the school for Bonnie, who is going to do her ritual to bring back the characters that have died:

And in the extended promo, we learn that Bonnie’s spell does indeed work, and the dead start walking:

Kol returns! Does this mean he might come back for real and star in The Originals? We’ll have to wait and see! And it looks like Silas’ plan doesn’t stop with the dropping of the veil, either – could he have a secret agenda?

Don’t forget to check out Hypable’s podcast Vampire Hype, where we talk about all things The Vampire Diaries! In our most recent episode we discuss last week’s “She’s Come Undone,” and in the fall season we’ll also talk about the spinoff series.

The Vampire Diaries season 4, episode 22 “The Walking Dead” airs Thursday at 8/7c on The CW.

This is the penultimate episode of season 4; only the finale (titled “Graduation”) remains. What have you thought about the season so far? And which characters do you hope are brought back permanently when the veil is dropped?

Alaric!! It would be amazing to see him back for good. Especially after everything that’sbeen going on, Elena as a vampire, Jeremy being dead, it would be amazing to see how he is. I doubt its gonna happen though :(
