A new Florence and the Machine song is here! And we have Warner Bros.’s new film The Great Gatsby to thank.
The Great Gatsby’s soundtrack includes an impressive line up of artists including Florence, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Lana Del Rey.
GQ had the exclusive release of Florence and the Machine’s new song “Over the Love,” and notes that the song’s lyrics are tied closely into the film’s plot. “Classic symbols from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel are threaded throughout,” they write, “from Daisy’s yellow dress to the green light that hovers outside her home on the dock in East Egg.” The song appears to be from Daisy’s perspective.
