It’s here! The Hunger Games: Catching Fire theatrical trailer number one debuted during the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday. It was introduced by Liam Hemsworth, who plays Gale.

Though it was marketed as a teaser trailer, the 2 1/2 minutes of footage offers up a major preview. The Catching Fire trailer focuses on President Snow and Plutarch Heavensbee who are meeting to decide how to deal with Katniss’ rise. We also see a great scene where Katniss and Peeta are asking Haymitch for help.

Watch the ‘Catching Fire’ trailer

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens November 22, 2013. In the book by Suzanne Collins, Katniss and Peeta face the repercussions of gaming The Capitol’s Hunger Games system. President Snow is not pleased with the move they pulled off at the end of the 74th Hunger Games, and a rebellion is forming. Katniss and Peeta will join past victors in the Quarter Quell, which is the centerpiece of the storyline following the Victory Tour.

Catching Fire is the second of four films in Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games film franchise. Mockingjay, the third and final book in Collins’ series, is being split into two films for release in November 2014 and November 2015 respectively.

In the past few days, five gorgeous stills have been unveiled from the film. They offered looks at new gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman), President Snow (Donald Sutherland), Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), Primrose Everdeen (Willow Shields), and Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth). What do you think of the new ‘Catching Fire’ trailer?

Hit the comments below and discuss with fellow fans. We’re absolutely positive fans, who’ve been waiting for this film since The Hunger Games release over a year ago, will have a lot to say about all of this new footage.

  • Jonathan kunitsky

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Effie’s epic “Chins up, smiles on” line was amazing btw. SOOO good. CANNOT WAIT

  • Jacqueline

Love that they didn’t give away the huge plot twist of the Quarter Quell and still made it look amazing!!

    • theodds.

      although you just did.

      • Jacqueline

I purposely didn’t say what the Quarter Quell plot twist was exactly, actually

        • CliveRogan

Knowing there’s a twist is in a lot of ways bigger spoiler than what the twist actually is. The whole point of it is you think they story’s going in one direction, and it suddenly heads in another. To know there’s a twist changes everything you’re watching as you know it’s not going to last. Not to mention that once you know the twist is coming, it’s beyond obvious what the twist actually is.

          • http://www.facebook.com/mary.westmoreland2 Mary Westmoreland

wow…i think you are reading way too into things…knowing there is a twist is not that big of a spoiler than actually knowing what it is…there were plenty of people talking about the quarter quell twist…calm down…

          • CliveRogan

It was probably an exaggeration that it’s bigger than knowing the actual twist, but it’s still about 90% of the overall spoiler. It only takes around four seconds of brainwork to work out what the twist actually is.

And great, other people are talking about the twist, but that doesn’t make it not spoilers. In this day and age anyone is foolish to even read about anything they don’t want to know about so people have it coming to read about things, especially comment sections. But my point still stands, people who go to see the film knowing there’s a twist will be watching a completely different film from those who don’t know about it.

          • Guest

Pretty much every comment on this post has been talking about the spoiler while trying (and mostly failing) not to reveal it. If anyone who hasn’t read the books still doesn’t get it, I’ll be shocked.

          • http://www.facebook.com/mary.westmoreland2 Mary Westmoreland

we will have to agree to disagree…i see no spoiler in knowing there is a twist…twists happen all the time in movies and books and whether you know or not that its there, the details of the twist is still a surprise

          • CliveRogan

Yes they do, but knowing one’s coming changes the way you watch things. I guess for many it might not, but there are many films where I went in knowing there was a twist, and worked it out early on whereas if I’d gone in totally unaware I’d have been surprised by the twist.

Anyway, my original comment was meant to be a throw away comment about the nature of twists, but due to the joys of the emotionless internet the comment got blown out of proportion.

          • NerdPolice

            Calm down nerds.

      • Hagrid’s Coat

i don’t think anyone who hasn’t read the books would know what the Quarter Quell was from this post.

      • http://www.facebook.com/mary.westmoreland2 Mary Westmoreland

        ummm…no she didnt…

        • woo

Yeah she did. All the past victors go to the hunger games! Yay spoiler.

          • Annoyed

            Shut up woo.

          • http://www.facebook.com/mary.westmoreland2 Mary Westmoreland

she didnt say that! lol…all she said was there was a twist…you just spoiled the twist by what you just said!

          • http://www.facebook.com/mary.westmoreland2 Mary Westmoreland

she did not actually say what the twist was…you just did, sooo you’re the spoiler…

          • http://twitter.com/CGuyOne Claudio Catino

            Shut up, Meg.

  • http://twitter.com/emilyecstasyTM Emily Bryan

That trailer was amazing!! It gave me a huge adrenaline rush just watching it!

  • Lucy

I love it! I love how the second half of the book was not spoiled at all! Wow.

    • http://twitter.com/Sonya199711 SofiaSham2017

I really hope they dont spoil that at all!

      • Zeyu

I think it’s going to be really hard not too.

        • http://www.hypable.com/ Andrew Sims

They pulled it off for the first movie. I imagine that’s the plan with this one.

        • http://twitter.com/akacj7 Caroline J.

my best guess is they’ll introduce the victors in the next trailer via the party scene. especially now that they’ve established a threat toward the victors, they can reveal them without as much confusion to the non-reader audience. or maybe im over-thinking it. lol.

          • Zeyu

Yeah, that’s sound like a good idea, I means we should get to see the other victors right?

    • http://www.facebook.com/SarahTipton Sarah Tipton

Agreed. BUT WHERE ARE JOHANNA AND FINNICK?! That’s all I wanted…

      • FYeahCF

It’s only a teaser trailer so I assume the other important parts, such as the victors and the Quarter Quell will be revealed in the first or second full trailer.

        • http://www.facebook.com/SarahTipton Sarah Tipton

What’s weird about it being a teaser trailer is that a teaser trailer is supposed to be about 1:30, because a regular trailer hits the 2:30, and the trailer was closer to that than the typical teaser trailer (The useless information you learn at a liberal arts college!). Anyway, I just wanted a shot of them, but I am looking forward to the full length trailers :)

          • FYeahCF

I know, it was rather unusual (but I’m not complaining)!

      • Neha

Its supposed to be a teaser for The Trailer!!

  • http://twitter.com/Jazmyne92 Jasmine

I’m trying not to look too hard at the little details right now because it will depress me how wrong it all is but the trailer did excite me. They showed the Gatniss kiss :D

  • WalpurgisQuill

Awesome awesome awesome AWESOME! THEY NAILED IT!!!

  • Kate

The whipping scene, oh the WHIPPING SCENE!!!! This is so amazing!!!! I will be watching this over and over all night!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Maria-Wang/542480760 Maria Wang

Love it! Love it love it!

  • http://twitter.com/Nerd502 Sasha A. Khan

I love how it was NOTHING like what I expected to see! I CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/cassidy.howell.98 Cassidy Howell

    AHHHH SOO GOOD!!!

  • Kristen Kranz

Man o man. Such a FANTASTIC trailer. **runs off to re-read Catching Fire again**

  • emgmpg

If you’re not as siked as I am, who only read the books once them idk what you’re thinking

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=752203253 Kendra Baird

I think they should have included a kiss from Peeta and Katniss as well along with the Gale and Katniss kiss. So far, as far as the first movie and what I’ve seen in this trailer, the romance between Gale and Katniss feels much more natural.

    • bernardo triana

We got rid of twilight, dont want to bring focus on the romance all too much!

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1045615098 Riana-Tiana Menezes

“We just got rid of twilight” Hahaha

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=752203253 Kendra Baird

I agree. I’m just saying, to people who have not read the books, they make it look like she doesn’t care about Peeta at all, the Capitol is just making her stay with him. I’m very excited for this movie, so please don’t misunderstand what I’m trying to say! I don’t want the romance to be the main focus. The Hunger Games is about so much more than a love triangle. However, romance is still a part of the books and the movies, and I want them to get it right. I know it’s a long ways away, but I don’t want people to leave Mockingjay Pt. 2 feeling like she goes back to being with Peeta just because he’s the only one around. One of the major themes in the Hunger Games trilogy, at least from my perspective, was Choices. I just want it clear that Katniss has several decisions to make that effect those that she cares about, including a decision between two boys.

tl;dr: I agree, romance should not be the main focus. But, whatever little amount of romance there is, I want it to do justice to the books. By the end of Catching Fire, it should be clear to the audience that Katniss is in love with Peeta.

  • MirrorWolf

Ahh!!!! Biggest smile on my face right now! :))

  • Ra

    OMG!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1045615098 Riana-Tiana Menezes

    THAT WAS SOOOO GOOOODDD AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • Gabbi

That was amazing! And they didn’t even give away half the plot!

  • Zack

    CHINS UP. SMILES ON.

    • http://twitter.com/StarkidSims Simone

basically the result of watching this trailer.

  • Megan

It’s been a long time since I’ve gotten excited about something and this is it. This is Catching Fire. I can not wait any longer!!!

  • http://twitter.com/clariclaudia13 Claudia Guinansaca

What did I think? What did I think?!? I thought it was INCREDIBLE. I’m so excited for this movie. Love how it focused on the start of rebellion and the Victory Tour. REALLY hope they stick with not revealing the Quarter Quell plot twist. But really liked that little hint to it at the end!

  • Lisa

    SUPER DUPER EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!! (:

  • Jake

It’s so smart, what they’re doing to cover up the big, “OH CRAP” moment in the movie, if you know what I mean, so people who haven’t read it will be shocked. This is only less than half of what the movie should be, if I remember right. SO FREAKING READY.

    • Kit

I wish they would just change that part, it made the book so awkward. Maybe they could do a variation of it.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1045615098 Riana-Tiana Menezes

The dialogue between Plutarch and Snow was . . . EPIC . . .exactly what this movie needed. Francis Lawrence you have just earned my trust.

    • Neha

It gave me chills in the last where they discuss about doing something for the whole ‘species. I know what they’re talking about and how they’ll do it, but Still!!

    • NICK

Whoever wrote the script deserves the praise as well!

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1045615098 Riana-Tiana Menezes

Definitely! And just from this trailer I can already make out the huge contrast between the script for the Hunger Games and this. This script sounds more mature and sophisticated.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=531808242 Courtney Gibson

This was so AMAZING! they showed so much! I certainly don’t expect to get even one more trailer, but no i’ll be anxously awaiting the moment when I can see this trailer on the big screen. gah, everything is perfect. except for that fact that we have to wait until November

  • http://www.facebook.com/Liliana.Sa Liliana Sa

i was waiting to see some of the quarter quell!!!….this trailer makes it seem like there won’t be any game involved!!!!…..ok maybe i was hoping to see Finnick!!! gahhh

  • Michael

I re-read the book today, and almost everything I read was in that trailer! IM SO EXCITED!

  • Kate

I love how Katniss is crying when she is talking to Haymitch, because in the book she always tried to hide her tears, but then sometimes it was too much, it shows how much she has been through and how innocuous she is

    • Neha

I wish they had shown Peeta saying something else than ‘What do we do?’ but oh well, it was just a teaser!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=531808242 Courtney Gibson

they’ll probably (and I hope they do) do the same thing they did with HG and show everything leading up to it. it would be a pretty big spoiler to people who hadn’t read the books to find out they were going back in. but of course, anyone could work it through that they’ll have to go back in – how else are they going to ‘kill’ her

  • http://www.facebook.com/CelticFiddleChick Destiny Jacobson

    Oh my! Jaw dropping awesome!

  • hpatdh33

Wow, I am so excited about this movie. “The odds are NEVER in your favor!”

    • Septima

      I loved that too!!

    • Neha

That wasn’t in the book. But still loved it!!

    • Kat

I thought it was “the odds are NEVER in our favor”

  • Megan

Was hoping to see Finnick. Disappoint. But I see why they left him out.

    • http://twitter.com/akacj7 Caroline J.

i think we’ll see the other victors in the next trailer (i don’t think the advertisers could afford not to show their faces at all), especially now that they’ve established a threat to them via president snow. the footage will *hopefully* come from the party scene (as opposed to you-know-what, keeping a large piece of the plot unspoiled).

  • http://twitter.com/NatashaPeartree Natasha Pereira

    SOOOOOO GREAT!!!!!!!!

  • Jonathan kunitsky

You can definitely tell this sin’t Gary Ross. It just has a different feel to it. I am not sure if thats a good thing yet, but I am excited as hell.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1045615098 Riana-Tiana Menezes

Its a good thing. Its definitely a good thing.

      • Rene Gonzalez

I agree. Definitely a good thing. And definitely better direction. So far so good..

    • 7Starrchasers

It does but at the same time I am pleased that it LOOKS like a continuous franchise. I was so worried that tonally it was going to be extremely different…it does however looks like it has a bigger budget.

      • Jonathan kunitsky

Yea it does look like they spent a lot more money on it. And if they don’t have the shakey camera, that would be pretty good. It does look like a continuous franchise, which is defintely a good thing. I also really like how they are focusing on the revolution and political part of the story. That was probably a good decision by Francis Lawrence. I just hope its as true to the book as The Hunger Games was. That is probably my top concern.

  • http://twitter.com/potterfan92 Raina

This is amazing. I just have to remind my self that this is a teaser. So there is lots more to come!! :D

  • Ryan

I love it! They just barely mentioned the quarter quell and it was still epic!

  • http://www.facebook.com/katharine.smith.73 Katharine Smith

    GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    • Star

      me too

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1839141121 Kevin Seurs

I still can’t believe how lucky we, tributes, are. Lionsgate has put this franchise in the hands of people who really understand the message of these books from the start. The added material is a perfect example of that.
I kinda worried after Gary Ross left, fearing they’d stray off the perfect road the first film had taken, but Francis Lawrence has my trust now, it simply looks amazing.

  • bernardo triana

    AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING

  • http://twitter.com/Sonya199711 SofiaSham2017

This is going to be so much better then the first movie! I am so happy there is a new director.

  • http://twitter.com/Dillon_Mays Dillon Mays

GAH! So good. Katniss looks so uncomfortable at that party. And the only difference between the directors is the lack of camera movements.

  • http://www.facebook.com/katelyn.jernigan Katelyn Jernigan

they must be saving the arena for the movie, because they don’t know that they go back to the arena until half way through the book

  • Christina

I LOVED how although they didnt spoil the Quarter Quell twist, they still alluded and foreshadowed to it in some way at the end. perfect. i just hope we get a line from finnick in the next trailer, in a way where they dont spoil anything.

  • http://twitter.com/Super_Lulu1 Lupita

It looks fantastic but why is it not November yet?!

  • Kate

Scary as trailer… this is going to be LEGEND wait for it DARY

  • Ra Serna-DEATH EATER

Because of her, they all think ; they are invincible…LOVED THAT LINE!!!!!!!

  • Guest18

Well that certainly beats Katniss simply running through the woods… what a teaser dang!

OMG This looks amazing!!!! I cant wait

  • Kathleen

I just rewatched the Hunger Games right before watching the trailer tonight and Josh Hutcherson looks really great in the trailer! I can’t really put my finger on what it is, but I’m a fan!

    • Sydne

I get what you mean….. I think it’s that he’s actually clean in this movie, in comparison to most of the last one.

  • http://www.facebook.com/mary.westmoreland2 Mary Westmoreland

omg, absolutely perfect…jen lawrence is amazing as always, and i love Effie line “chins up, smiles on”…so effie…havent been this excited for a movie since harry potter :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1045615098 Riana-Tiana Menezes

I loved how the trailer appealed to everybody, not just the teenage fandom. It talked about revolution and suppression which will intrigue the adult audience too!

  • guest

WOW! The only bad thing about the trailer was the lack of Finnick. It gave me chills. Seriously.

  • Jason

Just…better than I ever could have hoped for. And I am SO happy that they didn’t show the games.

  • http://xyue-mayx.deviantart.com/ Dreamer

They didn’t give away the last half and they still made it look amazing!

  • Hagrid’s Coat

is this going to be discussed on the hype podcast in the near future? special trailer episode?

  • Echoreyn

AGH, I think I’m finally allowed to talk about this since this had like four of my scenes in it, but guys… I’M IN THIS TRAILER!
Thank you, Hypable for posting about the extras casting last summer! I would have never gotten the chance to be in it otherwise. :)

    • Gary65

Are you in the Capitol or the Districts?

      • Echoreyn

Districts. I got to do a whole lot of rioting which was quite an exciting experience!

        • http://twitter.com/CGuyOne Claudio Catino

Tell us which time frame(s) you’re in.

        • http://twitter.com/Tygridia Tygridia

Yes, when are you in the trailer!? We are your new fans!

          • Echoreyn

Aw, this is why I love Hypable! The community here is awesome. :)

I’m only shown on screen in a few brief scenes, but I had the pleasure of being there for the filming of nearly every district or riot scene shown in this trailer which really blows me away! You can glimpse me best in :49-:50 where there’s quite a clear shot of my forehead next to the man who starts the riot. You can also catch a full body shot of me rushing straight through the middle of the crowd at 1:15-1:16. And finally, I’m rioting in the dark right corner of 1:32-1:33.

All of it was just such an incredible experience. I still can’t believe I got to be a part of it!

  • claystripe6514

Wow. Fantastic. And only scenes from the first half of the book! This movie’s gonna be awesome.

  • BronzeSparks123

THAT WAS AMAZING!!! I am so glad that nothing was spoiled, but it completely sparks interest for the movie! I don’t know that I like it as much as I liked the Hunger Games trailer, but its a close tie. Why do we have to wait until November???

  • jose8180

Hype podcast needs to do a trailer show asap!!!

  • Star

we are all dead. dead and flailing.

  • Septima

I freakin LOVED this trailer, as did most everybody, BUT..
Can we talk about the whipping scene? Isn’t anyone else worried? It seemed awkward to me. Why in the WORLD would Thread ever punch and pull a gun on Katniss Everdeen?? In the book he only accidentally whips her. Also, I didn’t like her cliche “Go ahead” line. That scene just didn’t seem as spot on to me as the rest of the trailer – as it should have.

However, the D11 and party scenes were perfection and everything they added – the Snow-Plutarch convo, the “The Odds are Never In Our Favor,” – was also perfect!! So excited!! <3

    • jose8180

I have no problems with the differences of the whipping scence.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1045615098 Riana-Tiana Menezes

I think they altered that scene to make it more realistic and frightening. To show the true extent of Snow’s influence.
I actually quite like the change.

    • Septima

Don’t think I’m not open to changes!:) I loved most all the changes from the first one, and I don’t really have a big problem. It was just when she said “Go ahead” I was like, really, she was gonna take a bullet instead of just screaming for him to stop? But it might be the kind of thoughtless thing she would do lol. Thanks for the input:)

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1045615098 Riana-Tiana Menezes

I think she said “Go ahead” to provoke him cause no matter how much he hates her, he CANNOT kill her otherwise that would start a bigger uprising.

        • memuggle14

I believed the “Go ahead” was her way of asking him to please end her life now. She doesn’t wanna live.

  • ladybirds

    It looks great. :-)

  • Mel

I loved how they kept the second half of the book a secret, but definitely set up for it at the end of the trailer with Snow’s line about the victors.
Amazing, amazing, amazing. I’m off to watch it 20 more times and wait impatiently until November :D

Lol rewatch that, it says the 22nd:)

  • http://www.facebook.com/dlmarvin05 Dominique Marvin

    It’s so good!

  • AJgirl

I love it, its wonderful however, i wish they had shown a flash of the victors holding hands after Snow had his speech about destroying them all (the victors). Also missing some Peeta action here and not sure how I felt about the Gale and Katniss kiss…

    • http://twitter.com/akacj7 Caroline J.

i think maybe they didn’t because like with the first movie, they might be trying to keep the Quarter Quell details on the down low. or, well, maybe they’re waiting for the second/final trailer to do those first looks of the other victors. it wouldn’t do NOT to reveal their faces ahead of time, but perhaps they’re just measuring the rate of exposure.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1045615098 Riana-Tiana Menezes

I think they just focused on Katniss in this trailer to convey to the audience that she is the main person responsible for this “mess”. That she is the person Snow needs to take down. She is the most powerful person now.

  • http://twitter.com/akacj7 Caroline J.

looks like a little bit of shaky cam is sitll in there, but not at all like in the first film. it seems like it’ll be cohesive, visually, but will also stand alone as francis lawrence’s film, and not his attempt to replicate to gary’s.

When they burn the flag – OH THE FEELS!!! I have to say, that, for me, was the most goose-bumpy moment!:D

Does anyone know what scene it was when Katniss and Gale are running with the bridge(?) thing in the background, and then they show a slum-type area being raided by Peacekeepers? Is that just the Seam, and they’re running towards the burning Hob? It looked like a completely different district, not at all the forest-y 12 we saw in the first film. I understand there are different parts of the district, but it looked like a huuuge industrial wasteland, and the only non-forest area of 12 we saw from the first was the Square.

the forest isnt part of the District itself though – thats outside the fence, isnt it? the purpose of District 12 is coalmining..so there would be a fair amound of industrial sections.

  • Georgia

There’s nothing about the actual 75th Hunger Games in this trailer? Still looks amazing though

    Fandom: Where’s Finnick?
    Trailer: Odair he is . . . . not.

    Woo-hoo! Can’t wait for this film! :D

  • Bridget

I was shocked they didn’t even say anything about the Quarter Quell. AHHHH SO GREAT. As much as I would’ve loved to see Johanna and Finnick, this trailer hypes the movie up just enough. It does exactly what a trailer should do, get the audience interested into what the movie is about, rather than spoiling everything. A+!!!

  • ForFrodo

WHOA, awesome. I like the focus of this trailer :)

  • rachel

    WOW!!!

  • Alex

The whole trailer looks amazing, but what really got my attention was Peeta’s reaction to the gun shot from District 11. I think Josh captured Peeta’s essence better in that one moment than he did in the entire first movie. Lawrence as the director is going to take this movie to a whole new level. It is visually stunning.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1045615098 Riana-Tiana Menezes

That statement about Peeta is just so true!

    • Ellie

I noticed that moment too-it just shows perfectly how human he is.

  • FairyTaleVampire

That was amazing :) it needed more Peeta though :) haha

  • 7Starrchasers

OH. MY. GOD. THE CONTINUITY IS JUST……OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!

  • Gary65

HOLY SHIZNIT!!!!!!!! THAT WAS AWESOOOOOOOME!!! I can’t believe it’s another 6 months :(

  • http://www.facebook.com/isak.kohaly Isak Kohaly

The music at the end of the trailer is godawful but the trailer in general is quite good!

  • Azeem

They used a camera which isn’t shaking constantly! Thank you Francis Lawrence. Acting looks terrific. Production design is beautiful. Plot is strong (just like the book). Character development is certainly visible! Hurray for Hunger Games!!!

  • Mrs_Badcrumble

This is so AWESOME and so smart as well. The trailer is amazing, full of tension and emotion, but without giving away the main plot line – like any trailer should be!!! Really happy with the way this is going!

    Peacekeeper pulls gun on Katniss.
My thoughts: “Do it. She doesn’t care.”
    Next Line: “Do it.”

  • upper_westsider

I am SO EXCITED to see this! WOW!!!!!!

  • Sheechiibii

Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Totally freaking out right now! They didn’t show that they go back in the Hunger Games! I am so happy! My gosh, I can’t wait for this movie!

  • Tomas

It looks like it has no decent story…

  • http://twitter.com/CGuyOne Claudio Catino

Wow, everything’s amazing, the acting, the music, the scenes they chose to include. Holy shit, I might just go crazy before November 22nd.

That trailer went above and beyond my expectations. It was more than I could have asked for. I loved it. I’m so excited and confident that the next film will be just as great. Gave me chills. As everyone is saying, I’m so glad they focused on the first half of the book to not spoil too much and still keep it exciting. Perfection. :)

  • Aidan

i am so so so so glad that it looks like they are doing this right because this was definitely my favorite book of the trilogy (although the first is a super close second)

  • Plat

Wow this was great! It’s a lot different than I expected. And glad they didn’t spoil the second half like I had hoped. I am really excited for this now. And still half a year away. xD

  • FYeahCF

I think that it’s clear that Francis Lawrence is much better suited to this project – just from this trailer it feels like you’re seeing the events through the eyes of Katniss.

    • xosnowangel

idk why but i felt the total opposite :/

  • Casey

That trailer had 100% less Finnick Odair than I wanted.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1045615098 Riana-Tiana Menezes

And 100% more Snow than I needed.

  • Kat

Is it weird that I noticed that you changed your profile picture?

  • Sarah

Guys…I have the chills watching this trailer, i’m having huge hopes for this movie and what the director has done for it. Everything so far seems perfect!!!

  • http://twitter.com/ryoung0908 Ryan Young

I thought this about the first movie too, but I think that this may be better than the book. Actually seeing what is happening completly makes it seem way more intense, and a lot more fearfilled. I am super exsited to see where this movie goes!

  • HarryHungerAvatar12

That’s just the teaser trailer! Just we wait for the first full trailer!

  • Sydne

This trailer looks phenomenal. What I really LOVED though, was that scene at the end of the trailer (Snow is talking about how the victors must go, basically) when Katniss is still standing at the whippping post, Peeta in front of her, and Haymitch in front of him. Even though Thread presumably isn’t still standing there with his gun pointed, the symbolism is clear. Peeta would jump in front of a bullet for Katniss at any point, and Haymitch, no matter how much he would deny it, would die for both kids in a heartbeat. Both of them, specifically, wouldn’t hesitate to die for her, which is echoed throughout the novel, particularly after the Quarter Quell is announced. Maybe that seems like a lot to assume from just a teaser trailer, but it certainly gave me hope for a movie that could go so, so wrong. Francis Lawrence and the rest of the team behind this movie, you have earned my trust.

  • http://www.fantasizing.tumblr.com/ Grace Chen

I did like the trailer, but I think I was expecting a bit more.

  • Jojo R

There is a distinct lack of sugar cubes in this trailer. Is Selena as disappointed as I am, I wonder?

  • hotairballoon

I hope it is as good as the first and I am pleased they didn’t spoil the second half because that was such as shock to me when reading it, I want everyone else to experience it. Can’t wait to hear all the gasps in cinema when Peeta announces about the baby. If you’ve read the books you’ll understand.

  • Kudz

ARGGHH!!! shes supposed to whipped in the face!!
