With less than a week to Doctor Who’s premiere for its second half of season 7, BBC teases us with a brand new prequel for the episode. Watch what the Doctor has been doing before he meets Clara again in the next episode, Bells of St. John.
Earlier this week we got the synopsis for this episode as well as the rest for season 7, excluding the final episode. You can read the synopsis for Bells of St. John below.
The Doctor’s search for Clara Oswald brings him to modern day London, where humanity lives in a wi-fi soup. But something dangerous is lurking in the signals, picking off minds and imprisoning them. As Clara becomes the target of this insidious menace, the Doctor races to save her and the world from an ancient enemy.
Clara Oswald is definitely one of, if not the most interesting companion that the Doctor has ever had. Watching the rest of this season is going to be the highlight of our television schedule, and we can’t wait to figure out why the Doctor is always destined to meet Clara, who she really is, and what makes her so unique. However, in a recent interview producer Marcus Wilson tells us that it won’t be easy; “It’s a riddle that won’t easily be cracked. I defy anybody to guess it. Steven Moffat has found a way to lead everybody down the garden path and then knock them over with surprise at the end.”
Of note in the video are the red hair clips that Clara is wearing. Fans have been noticing that whenever Clara appears she seems to be wearing something dark red at all times either a dress, a rose in her hair, an under-blouse, something. Additionally, the most innocuous of statements are often important in Doctor Who. Clara states she lost her, “best pencil, my school bag, my gran, and my mojo.” Given that in interviews Moffat has constantly stated that the Doctor has lost his mojo, could there be a connection?
Moffat, known for tearing his fans apart at their emotional seams only to put them back together again and start anew, is not one to underestimate when it comes to plot twists and developments in his storylines. We can theorize like crazy on our Doctor Who podcast WhoHype, or try to pick his brain to get him to tell us his devious plans, but we at Hypable think this is one mystery that viewers will have to watch unravel before their eyes rather than predict. And we can’t wait to see it happen!
