The cover art for part two of the new Avatar: The Last Airbender graphic novel The Search has been released, along with a sobering synopsis previewing troubling times for Team Avatar and the Fire Nation siblings.
Though the first installment of Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Search will not be released in comic book stores until March 20 (and regular booksellers on April 2), the cover and synopsis for part two have already been revealed.
The second installment of The Promise will be released in comic book stores on July 24, and will retail for $34.99. Like Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Promise, the three-part comic which first picked up the story of Aang and his friends after the Hundred Year War, The Search will be written by Gene Luen Yang and illustrated by Gurihiru. Part two of The Search will continue the story of Zuko’s quest to find his mother Ursa, who disappeared when he was a child. Zuko will be accompanied by Aang, Katara and Sokka; completing (and complicating) their company will be Zuko’s sister Azula, a powerful villain of Avatar: The Last Airbender whose mental stability is questionable – to say the least.
The summary for Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Search (Part Two) reveals:
In search of their long-lost mother, Fire Lord Zuko and his deadly and insane sister Azula have brought Avatar Aang and his friends into a mysterious forest, but what they discover within may be more than they can face. Will they too be lost in these woods forever?
