Get ready for tonight’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy 9×12 “Walking on a Dream” with these sneak peeks showing the reception of Dr. Alana Cahill!

Episode synopsis:

Guest Starring Constance Zimmer (“Entourage”) and Justin Bruening (“All My Children”)

“Walking on a Dream” – The Seattle Grace doctors are on edge when a new medical professional enters the hospital; Arizona struggles with the emotional and physical pain of a phantom limb; and while battling pregnancy hormones, an overly-emotional Meredith is confronted with her worst fear, on “Grey’s Anatomy,” THURSDAY, JANUARY 24 (9:00-10:02 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

When Owen makes the announcement about Dr. Alana Cahill coming to the hospital it doesn’t go over very well with the surgeons. He reveals to the staff that she is coming to advise on some cost cutting measures and increase efficiency. Bailey jokes that she’s actually there to say who will get fired. To which the rest of the staff nervously laughs at. While Owen tries to convince them that she is there to help it doesn’t seem to work. Not even Cristina is impressed.

Owen sits down to talk with Arizona about her phantom limb pain. Arizona is worried its getting worse as it is now happening during the day instead of only at night. She tells Owen that she’s going crazy but he assures her that it is a very real condition. He suggests using a mirror to make it look as though her leg is still there. In the hopes that it will re-route her brain.

Owen introduces Alana to Derek, when she tries to ask them about standard procedures he icily tells her to ask Owen. Before he can walk away she informs him that she will be watching his surgery the following day. It’s clear she’s not wanted when he tells her “Typically you need to be invited.”

Do you think Arizona will get over her phantom limb? How will Derek react if Alana shows up in his OR?

I can’t imagine Derek would be very happy about that, especially if he’s only just getting back into the OR- even if he is a bit egotistical sometimes, he also has confidence issues when things haven’t gone so well (like when the original clinical trial was killing so many people).
