Huge banners for ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ released

Today Warner Bros. released four very tall The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey banners offering beautiful new artwork and fresh looks at the lead characters.

Each one, in a size that is very un-Hobbit-like, offers a different group of characters. We’re more than sure you’ll be seeing these hanging from the highest points at your local movie theater.

Tickets for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey went on sale yesterday. Buy The Hobbit tickets now over on Fandango! By purchasing through Fandango you’ll receive a free song from the soundtrack composed by Howard Shore. Peter Jackson followers know that Shore also wrote the scores for all three Lord of the Rings films. We recommend purchasing early to ensure you get your ideal screening and/or seats for a midnight or evening showing!

Speaking of the soundtrack, yesterday we shared the first song available from Shore’s score entitled “Radagast the Brown.” You can read about the entire compilation in our previous report. Regular and special editions of the soundtrack will hit store shelves days before the film.

An Unexpected Journey hits theaters December 14. Part 2, The Desolation of Smaug will be
December 13, 2013. There and Back Again, part 3, opens July 18, 2014.

    These are so badly photoshopped.

  • KleppMelk

Oh lord… I really expected better photoshoping, The one with Bilbo in the tree is especially horrible. The only one that works is the firs one. Won’t change my expectations for the movie thought, but couldn’t the marketing team have put a bit more effort into it? Some of these are even worse than the posters from the Twilight franchise for heavens sake!

  • Jen

    Nasty photoshopping.

People are complaining about the photoshopping, but what I noticed was how much fun these posters are! I like them, photoshopped or not.

    • KleppMelk

The concepts are not bad, it just but together less skillfully than I expected. Bilbos arm loks broken in the one with the wolfs and you can tell his head has been pasted on.

      • stargazer

Okay, I see your point. But yes, the concepts are so much fun!

  • Teranel

I think they look fine. You haven’t seen bad photoshopping until you’ve seen the BBC’s promo images for Merlin.

    • Alexis

I was about to say the same thing. You can’t do much worse than Merlin.

That mountain looks very steep, and they’re having a rather easy time climbing it.
