Our regularly scheduled Teen Wolf spoiler of the week from Jeff Davis has been interrupted by a plea for help. He needs to know how we, the fans, want to see Stiles’ hair next season!

Usually Davis gives us mildly vague (okay, really vague) spoilers each week leading up to the start of season 3, like the bit about Tyler Posey’s new tattoo being written into the show and the declaration about werewolf eye colors. But this week is a bit different.

Davis asked Dylan O’Brien, the actor who plays Stiles, to keep his hair long for the next season. But O’Brien had a good question — why? What’s the reason behind Stiles growing his hair out?

Like any good showrunner, Davis has taken to Twitter to ask for our help. He needs a few good reasons as to why Stiles would want to keep his hair long. Make sure to tweet @JeffDavis75 with your reasons, and maybe next year we’ll see Stiles with something other than a buzz cut!

If you’d like a side-by-side comparison, check out the images below and decide for yourself which one you like better:

Be sure to vote in the poll below to tell us which hairdo you like better, and throw a comment down below to tell us why! We love that Davis is reaching out to fans to help him figure out which would be the best option for the character.

For season 3, would you like to see Stiles with short hair or long hair?

Thanks to Jeff Davis and the MTV Remote Control Blog for offering us the opportunity to weigh in on this important decision!

Need more ‘Teen Wolf’?

Well, you’re in luck! A new episode of Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast came out today, titled “Stealth Beanies and Dodgy Parkour.” It recaps episodes 1×03 “Pack Mentality” and 1×04 “Magic Bullet,” along with a recap of the news, listener feedback, and the winners of our first contest!

Be sure to also check out a recent Q&A Davis did on Twitter. He let slip a couple of cool details, like the fact that Lydia has an older sister and that Danny might be getting a new boyfriend soon!

Lastly, don’t miss out on the last few spoilers we’ve heard about, which include the title for episode 3×02 and a few snippets about some new characters.

For me Stiles is synonymous with his short hair, they just work together – I’m sure you have all seen the fantastic art work. Dylan looks more like himself with longer hair, keeping Stiles with short hair is the smarter choice (er- sexier too)

The only plausible reasoning for a longer hair Stiles is if he was injured and unconscious for awhile. I’d assume his hair would grow during that time but that seems like quite the plot point and its probably too major to fit in now. I hope they decide to keep ti short.

    • Anthony

      Yes, thank you!

It’s pissing me off that the fangirls are choosing long hair because they like long-haired DYLAN. Stiles has short hair, that is how we’ve come to know him, that is part of his charm and what makes him adorable.

Also, long hair makes Dylan look his age, 21, and Stiles is supposed to be 16 and short hair makes him look 16.

      • http://twitter.com/dawnlxix Dawn

I agree with both of you. I picked either one works for me, mostly because Dylan has looked so adorable with longer hair during promo for his new movie. But Stiles is partly defined by his buzzcut. The picture they chose above really sets off his character with the Bambi eyes, and the parted lips, and the beauty marks, and the red hoodie that just asks for trouble, and the M.O.U.T.H., and ……………..OH MY GOD………STILES!

        • http://twitter.com/vonchambers Devon Chambers

See! you know. It is like Stiles / Dylan … even though it is *just* shorter hair there is a very clear cut difference. His eyes seem much more emotional with his short hair too, and he just looks like goofy Dylan with the longer hair. The suspension of disbelief is easier with the first picture, maybe I’m just use to seeing it that way and am biased.

      • Radha

I agree that short hair is Stiles. I disagree that a buzz cut makes him look younger. Many edgy guys–especially guys with ink–wear buzz cuts. Army men wear buzz cuts. First season pilot Dylan had a baby face because more than likely, he and Posey were both 18 or 19 when the pilot was filmed. But if you look at his features now, compared to then, you can see he’s aged into a handsome young man. So yeah, I can see you saying that Dylan is pretty and without facial hair could look younger, but a buzz cut doesn’t make a person look younger.

  • Gary65

Maybe he heard Lydia hates buzzcuts. Either that or he think it’ll make him more attractive to gay guys.

    • http://forgiveyourmind.tumblr.com/ Tariq

Short or long he’s already extremely attractive to gay guys. ;)

      • http://www.twitter.com/BlueHuMac BlueHuMac

But he doesn’t know that. lol

      • Gary65

        Staright guys too lol

        • someone

          straight girls too!

          • Gary65

Stop jumping on the bandwagon. He’s ours :)

    • http://twitter.com/vonchambers Devon Chambers

More attractive … that is impossible!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Joey-Mangum/1820064015 Joey Mangum

It’s really not that big a difference between the two of them… As long as he’s not going shag, I don’t care which one they go with.

  • ravenclaw1991

I want long! I don’t know why, but I just do. I really don’t care much, either one is awesome, but I’d just like to see it long. Maybe for the first few episodes. Like have his excuse be so much has been going on, he hasn’t had the chance to get it cut. So after a few episodes he gets the chance to cut it. Short is associated with Stiles while the longer is Dylan’s so yeah, but like I said, either one is cool

  • Sugg

I’m fine with either! But if they chose long, they could go with something like “He chose to grow it out over the summer break to try a new look for the new school year”.

  • http://forgiveyourmind.tumblr.com/ Tariq

If he grows it long it should be because he wants to look like more of a man, Ahaha. I can imagine him explaining that being around all these werewolves with the inability to grow a beard made him feel the need to be hairier. Ahaha.

Not seriously though. Keep it short.

  • Rachel

I’ve noticed that occasionally writers use profiles to show character growth or development. Their appearance/clothing changes. Allison changed the way she dressed when she grew as a character. Perhaps Stiles could grow it out just because he feels like it, then you could cut it midseason? Perhaps it could do with his character arc, becoming a different person? I obviously don’t know what you have planned for Stiles this season but it’s an option!

  • http://twitter.com/JoVazquez90 Jo Vazquez

i would like to see his hair long for season 3 cause either way hes really cute & goofy lol.

  • katrinacheyennee

Styles needs to change things up. Scott’s hair changed last season!

  • http://twitter.com/Ms_MJCaceres Maria J. Perez

I think it could go like this : Stiles and Scott spend the summer doing guy bonding. They go camping in the wilderness for weeks. Keep on researching about werewolf stuff and so on. Because they’re so busy doing that they won’t really care about their appearances. Stiles’s hair can be longer and maybe Scott could have a beard or something. And then when the school year starts Scott grooms himself again and Stiles forgets to cut his hair for the new school year so he shows up with longer hair thinking about going to the barbershop after school. But then people keep giving him looks in school. He’s getting noticed by everyone, even Danny, and Lydia stops to talk to him and ask him “Why do you look different?” and before he answers she’s like “Never mind, whatever it is it suits you I guess.” and then she walks away and he decides to keep the hair.

    • christine

      thats genius

    • http://twitter.com/vonchambers Devon Chambers

Replace Lydia with Derek, and okay maybe

  • darlingdearest
  • http://www.facebook.com/victoria.mallorga Victoria Mallorga

Long hair. I feel it would change the perception other people have of him, besides the pack, and that could mean lots of character development, which is always awesome. Perhaps he decides to grow it out because experiment and that? Out of curiosity? I’m shit at reasons, but I would really love if Stiles had long hair.

  • http://twitter.com/DazedRose Lisa

I think maybe after the events of s2 he might be ‘growing up’. the buzz cut is linked to those events..

  • charlieese

I want him to buzzing it on the show itself, like show us why Stiles has his hair so short. But if that no possible, short, always short.

  • sheisthewater

I think for the storyline he should have long hair, because they have just gone through the roughest year and I feel maybe Stiles is a little (or a lot) tired, and he’s just got other things to worry about than his hair.

  • Nina

I think he’s adorable with longer hair, but the short hair just looks more Stiles-y

  • http://twitter.com/kirstengumm kirsten gumm

    SHORT!! keep it short!!

  • Mal

I dont think it takes major drama for a person to decide to grow their hair out… But I do think it could be something as simple as the fact that he told Scott he wants to try out for Captain of the team next year- so already Stiles has decided to make a change next school year. Even striking out with Lydia could inspire a need to boost his own self confidence. Trying to make himself more attractive sexually, so he can finally get some play- hell, lots of boys change their hair styles in school. Go look at Dylans old Youtube videos…

  • Remi

Another question: “Why” would he be so attached to his buzz cut? Does it mean something to him? Is that just his youthful style? If so I’d say the buzz cut is a symbol of his adolescence. He may still be a teen in the show but his character is maturing. Maybe he decides he needs a change, wants people to start looking twice at him, maybe he wants to be seen as more than Scott’s awkward sarcastic friend. I think Stiles deserves a stronger storyline in this show, and maybe growing his hair out is just a small start.

    • http://twitter.com/vonchambers Devon Chambers

There was a theory floating around that because his mom died of cancer (supposedly, but I’m still thinking that is all fanon and not the actual answer) that he keeps his hair short in her memory. Plus I mean his dad is a sheriff and is probably into that whole “neat and ordered” sense of lifestyle so it probably influenced Stiles to get a buzzcut.

I don’t know, I guess it doesn’t make a huge difference in the end but every other guy on the show has long shaggy hair and Stiles didn’t – it was a nice contrast. I didn’t want to see all the guys look like stereotypical band boys. I’m just happy Jeff is asking fans for input, dude IS literally a gift.

  • SL

Longer hair – it’s the third season, and it’s about time there’s some change to Stiles as a character. Sometimes, the change is natural, like growing out your hair, and one day when you look at the mirror, you realize you’ve changed.

I think there’s no reason to keep his hair short for the sake of consistency. I know that Jeff is planning to give more layers to Stiles as a character, but I have a strong feeling he’ll still be somewhat the comic relief of the group.

Stiles’ hair doesn’t have to be super long, just something beyond his buzzcut to signify change.

  • http://twitter.com/katelintsmith Katelin Smith

Honestly, I feel like he’s more Stiles-like with the buzz cut. But if he were to actively make the decision on the show to grow out his hair, however, that would be a different story.

Like if Lydia were to vaguely mention that she likes longer hair on a guy. (Or some other person if they plan on bringing in a completely different love interest for Stiles.) He comes across as the type of person who would believe that he doesn’t stand a chance… but can’t help but make the attempt. So if his hair slowly grew over the course of season 3… then I don’t see why not! (Just don’t let it get out of hand like a certain Supernatural character…)

Or what some of the other people in the comments have been saying: something keeping him from cutting his hair, like being rendered unconscious for quite some time (but that would just be upsetting).

  • kate

long, because it makes him look more grown up, and I can’t imagine he feels very childish anymore with all that he’s been through. So it could be a part of becoming more of adult that he has control over.

  • Anon

He looks younger with the buzz cut, and if the back story on his mother is cancer, it’s something that he could have started when she went on chemo.

  • http://twitter.com/weisquared2 wei²

people have also speculated about how stiles’ mom died – of cancer. which is why stiles would keep his hair buzzed because he wanted to be closer to his mother as she went through chemotherapy. letting his hair grow out would be a symbol of moving beyond that grief (though obviously it’d always be with him) and maybe growing closer to his father?

just a thought. fanfiction has gotten to me.

  • whatever

I don’t usually comment on stuff like this, but breenwolf has seriously got it down. I think a connection between Stiles hair and his mother’s “slow death” would be really interesting to see. Maybe he could grow it out to move on? It doesn’t have to be big to be powerful. http://breenwolf.tumblr.com/post/35231051806/a-plea-for-stiles-stilinski-to-keep-his-buzz-cut-for

  • Paul

Have it long. He matured a lot at the end of last season and there’s no reason to think this isn’t a good outward expression of it. If Dylan gets tired of the hair later in the season there are always options to buzz it off as another outward sign of change, depending on what Mr Davis has in store for him. I think it might make a very realistic and dramatic scene to buzz it off with cameras rolling. It sounds trivial but such actions constitute big things to a lot of people.

  • Kiko

Why would he need a special reason to grow out his hair an inch or two? We didn’t get a reason for Scott cutting his adorably shaggy hair short in S2…?

  • http://twitter.com/Sher_Undema Mila Vostricova

Dylan looks great with long hair, but Stiles cool with short! He looks like an alien.

  • Tamiare

Please, Jeff, short hair. Just please.
This article sums up reasons to keep it short and I absolutely agree with them. Please, read it <3.

  • Ana Duarte

I already knew this, but now it’s been again proved: Davis is a smart guy. For some reason he decided he wont’t give us a spoiler this week so he distracted us with kind of a polemic poll and noone even noticed!!! Haha… XD

Anyway, I think Dylan is a lot cuter with long hair but I totally agree Stiles’ buzz cut has become something of a trademark for the character. And he is hot with both hairstyles. The fact that there is a fanfictin head canon runing between the fans… that can’t be used as an argument, we can’t want all fanfiction headcanons to become actual headcanon because, you know, I’ve heard of a fic where Stiles actually gets pregnant…! Urgh

On the other hand, characters change their looks ocasionally. In fact, in some series, they change a little every season. Aaaaand Scott can have a new tatoo and Stiles can’t grow his hair? That sounds unfair!

On the other other hand. have anyone noticed Davis didn’t exactly asked us which cut we prefer? MTV did, but he just asks us for a reason for it to be long. It looks like he already made a decision, don’t you think?

  • FromFrance

I think that it’s an important choice to make because, even if it’s only 3 or 4 cm it will change Stiles a lot. Sure, Stiles looks 16 with very short hair but in season 3, it will be three years later so he’s supposed to be 19, no??
    Personally I prefer long hair.

(Sorry English is not my first language)

    …..

    • Karen Rought

It’s only four months later when we hit season 3, so he’s still basically the same age!

      • http://twitter.com/vonchambers Devon Chambers

Yeah, what Karen said! Its not a huge gap of time. I mean four months of hair growth wouldn’t be that much but he is certainly suppose to be around the same age. I don’t know where theres 3 year theories start.

  • TheOneAndOnlyCliche

He had a long discussion with Sam Winchester about the benefits of long hair?

  • http://twitter.com/Lizard971 Lizz / Isabelle

There are so many reasons to explain and justify Stiles’ buzz cut and so little for longer hair. Actually, I think Jeff is the only one who could justify longer hair depending on what he’ll be doing with Stiles in Season3. If he decides to change Stiles, change his story, change his goals, then maybe he should let the hair grow. Why did he ask Dylan to keep them long in the 1st place? Did he have a new Stiles in mind that fitted the image of Dylan? So yes, unless Jeff can come up with a valid reason that matches Season3, then the Buzzcut should stay.

    Because of Reasons:
    - The Buzzcut fits the character. Stiles is always running a thousand miles a minute, he mind is always busy on something, and I have real trouble seeing him occupied in the bathroom every morning, combing, styling his hair. That would be un-Stiles-ish.
    - Because fanon likes to believe that it represents a link to his mother. Either because he first shaved it to support his mum in her Cancer battle, or for other reasons. Maybe because she was always the one styling it for him and he doesn’t want anyone else doing it. Maybe because I can’t quite picture the Sheriff taking his son to the hairdresser after his wife’s death and opting for the buzzcut just saved them both from that and even if Stiles is old enough to go on his own, it just stays. Again, unless Jeff decides to come up with a Stiles 3.0 who tells a different story from what we got so far.
    - Because especially with everything that’s going on in his life right now, Stiles needs to hang on to something. (no, not hair!) That is of course assuming he’s had the buzzcut for a while now. So much has changed around him, that the littlest thing that could remain the same is welcome, something as seemingly insignificant as a haircut. (so much for insignificant with all the talking we’re doing about it! HA!)
    - Because by asking us, Jeff has made it a buzz in fandom. So. There. Word. Buzz it is. Buzz it stays! /

I could find more reasons for the Buzzcut, but I have to go. Feel free to add your own. Or to justify why the hair should be longer. “It’s cute” is not a valid argument, just so you know. Even though, yes, it is cute… on Dylan.

    • FromFrance

You are right when you said that “Jeff is the only one who could justify longer hair depending on what he’ll be doing with Stiles in Season 3″. I think that if Jeff Davis wants to give more depth to Stiles’s character he will choose a longer hair cut, but if he wants to keep Stiles unchanged (like in season 1 or 2) it will be the buzz cut. After all we have to remember that there is 3 years between season 1 and season 3 so we can guess that Stiles is not the same, there is a big difference between a 16 year’s old and a 19 year’s old teenager.

(Sorry, English is not my first language).

  • Eve

I think long hair look too much Hot for stiles.I just love short hair adorable stiles.

  • http://twitter.com/AnetkaL Aneta Lewkowicz

Let the short hair distinguishes him from the shapeshifters.

  • http://twitter.com/koritsimou Mackattack

I am far too enamoured with the headcanon that Stiles got his first buzzcut in solidarity with his mum’s chemotherapy hair loss (and decided he wouldn’t grow his until her’s started to grow back too, hence him keeping it short even now) to support longer hair in season three.

  • Kat

Seriously, there is no real reason to grow it out, Jeff! Just because girls will find him hotter? That’d be such a MTV reason and it reall upsets me that you would base that decision on how you can reach a broader audience.

  • William

Short. Short is who Stiles is.

Jeff, say no to Sterek. I know you think every viewer and their mother likes the pairing but TRUST ME there are A LOT of people who don’t. We just keep to ourselves because we avoid the idiot fangirls. Say NO to Sterek. You have more to lose by agreeing to it than you do by disagreeing (i.e. viewers)

It’s your show so don’t give it to the fans.

    • Victoria Eudy

And calling those who are for Sterek idiots is a great way to show Jeff he shouldn’t do it. I like Sterek, but I’m not pushing him to make it canon. It’s his show, he’s allowed to do whatever he wants on it. I’m not going to be annoyed if Sterek doesn’t happen, so I don’t think anyone else should be annoyed if it does. One relationship isn’t going to ruin the entire show, there is more to it than just that. And if you allow that one decision to be the breaking point on if you watch Teen Wolf anymore, then can you really call yourself a fan?

Besides, this poll is about Stiles’ hair choice, not about Sterek. Which I agree with you that short is what defines Stiles.

  • http://twitter.com/wednesday_d Despina

Dylan looks really good with longer hair, he’s very handsome, but
Stiles’ buzzcut is such a strong characteristic of him, plus it helps
making him look a bit more boy-ish imho, I mean, Stiles is supposed to
be 16-17 after all. I’d really love it if they kept it short, it’s just
part of the character I think :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/amber.clark.33821 Amber Clark

This is kinda weird decision to make but a good reason to grow hair out is with all this drama he hasn’t had time to get haircuts. It can just be slowly grown out until you guys get a height that everyone is happy with or just grow however long it would be after 4 months. Thanks for asking!

  • Madoshi Kurefu

He looks sexy with both haircuts. But if Stiles would have longer hair
Derek could pull on his hair during their fights or while kissing him.

Long hair Is Dylan O’Brien & short hair is Stiles. He wouldn’t look right with long hair cuz it ages him and short hair gives Stiles that innocent sexy thing we fans have grown to love about him SO PLEASE CHOOSE SHORT HAIR

  • fallfreely

personally, i think a lot of fans seem to be attaching some unnecessary sentiment to a stylistic choice that doesn’t have to mean much one way or another. in my opinion (as well as my experience), teenagers try out a lot of different things (physically and emotionally), trying to find what suits them best. it’s part of growing up, and there’s a reason they’re called our ‘formative years’. if the character stiles wants to let his hair grow out for no reason more substantial than just to try it and see, i think that’s a perfectly valid choice.

that being said, i also agree with the fact that longer hair makes the actor look older. keeping it that length to reflect stiles’ new found maturity (although hopefully not TOO much maturity, lol) seems reasonable, too. kind of like the way scott’s character went from the shaggy, boyish coif of season 1 to the shorter (and more mature-looking) style of season 2.

  • terrible-wolf

Dylan himself said he would prefer to keep his hair short as Stiles. So just knowing that means he has some kind of backstory in his mind of his own that he likes to portray. I prefer short haired Stiles but I am LUSTING for long haired Stiles LOL…but to be fair, people change all the time! Why does there have to be a reason for him to grow his hair out.

  • Anon

Stiles should keep his hair short. I mean, he’s always been like that and that just suits his character more. Why would Stiles have long hair? It doesn’t seem like something Stiles would do.
Dylan looks good with long hair but Stiles looks good with short. Who is the character in the show? Stiles.

  • http://twitter.com/luvinjrandsmoke Jen

Long so Derek has something to pull during sex

  • Rebekah

Short hair is the right choice for Stiles. I think it looks good on him, and I think it fits his personality, honestly. Dylan looks fantastic with long hair, but I think that it fits him. Stiles short buzz cut fits with his geeky-ness, I believe. But which ever hair style gets chosen, I believe Dylan and Jeff together can make it work.

  • Britney B.

I honestly don’t think Stiles would have that same goofy appeal if his hair was long. In my opinion, Stiles is one of the most stable characters on the show. Keeping his hair the same throughout the series–unless faced with a major character development– would be pretty much symbolic of his *said* stability. Also, Stiles with long hair **isn’t** Stiles; it’s Dylan. The short hair makes his features appear more vulnerable, in a sense, but also gives Stiles a strength to his character, and even makes the fans wonder if the reason he wears his hair short has to do with something that happened in the past. So PLEASE, despite how the poll turns out, I urge (mainly Jeff Davis and Dylan O’Brien) to go with their gut feelings on the situation of Stiles’ hair.

  • Liz

Why does he need a reason to grow his hair out an inch? It’s not like he’s growing dreadlocks or something. Why do any of us cut/dye our hair? Because we feel like it. We want something different. Why does there need to be some big reason that he does it? Reason: because he can.

I honestly don’t care one way or the other. I think he looks better with it a bit longer, but he looks fine with short hair too. It’s not going to change the character in any way for me if his hair is an inch or two longer. Why would it? Everyone saying “but it’s not Stiles if it’s long” is putting wayyy too much meaning behind the length of his hair.

  • Maddie

I like Dylan’s hair long, but that’s Dylan. Stiles’ hair is supposed to be short. They’re two different people.

  • Katie Moeller

Oh my god it’s so close!!! Funny!!

  • http://twitter.com/MarionCazzaro Marion Cazzaro

To me ,There was an explanation for stiles’s short hair. Like lot of head canon of fanfiction or tumblr saying that he has short hair because of his mother’s death. I feel frustrated if stiles passed to short hair to long hair without explaination!

  • Tiffany

I wouldn’t mind a longer hair Stiles to appear on season 3. Other
characters on the show have changed their appearance based on their growth as a
character. Scott has cut his hair and even Derek’s hair was a bit shorter later
in the show while Allison and Lydia have had subtle but noticeable changes in
their wardrobe. Also let’s not forget Isaac and Erica’s new found confidence
since becoming werewolves, their whole persona and attire changes along with
them. It’s not a matter of which way Dylan looks better or “hotter”. I want him
to be more than just comic relief. I want to see his character grow and have
some depth to him, to have a proper background story.

To those who are begging Jeff to keep it short based on your
headcanon is ridiculous. Why would he be so attached to his buzz cut? Who’s to
say the buzz cut has any significance to it at all? It’s YOUR personal canon and
not actual canon. And the reason that this is even an issue to begin with is
because we don’t know enough about Stiles to know what IS canon. Stagnating Stiles has gone on long enough and in my opinion, keeping the buzz cut only contributes to holding him back from maturing.

  • NormalFreeZone

I honestly think that Stiles cutting his hair should be included in the story of season 3. It would be really cool to see how Stiles would react and what would bring him to the point where he says “Its time to cut it.”

The buzz cut is what we all know for him, but to see a change like hair growth or a cut would make him feel just a little bit more real, more human instead of just a character. I don’t know.

It seems like it would be an interesting plot point too. Would it play into the story at all? Would he ask anyone for help?

All could be done with it. But I defiantly think he should cut it but it should be included in the show.

  • backwards 9

What if one of the reasons is that as kids Scott got gum stuck in his hair and had to buzz it all off, so Stiles did it too because they are Bffs?

Everytime Stiles got his hair cute he would probably poke fun of Scott in some way.

  • Sara

I like the idea that he decided to keep it short because of his mom (if she had cancer) and now he decides it’s time to move on. I think it would fit into the story since we’re going to find out about what happened to his mom next season. And also I think it would be great to play around with the fact that he decided to grow his hair because he needed a change? maybe after deciding that he’s moving on from lydia.. and because dylan looks sexier, less boy-ish with longer hair it would be funny to see stiles starting to get some attention from the ladies (and guys too) because all of sudden he’s attractive (yeah, yeah I know dylan is attractive with both hair styles, but you know what I mean). Plus I think it would be a great change for him like it was for Scott. Scott with shorter hair on season 2 symbolizes maturity to me, he’s no longer the naive little boy anymore, he grew up into a man. Same thing could happen with Stiles. But I think the best solution (and the only way to please everyone) was to have Stiles with longer hair for the first few episodes and then cut it back to the buzz cut. I would love to have a scene of Stiles cutting his hair. Depending on the reasons why he would do it (and why he has a buzzcut to begin with) it can turn into such a meaningful and perfect scene.

I dont think having slightly longer hair will effect his charecter at all. I think it can improve his charecter really..like maybe he is a little too preocupied with everything to cut it…or he is trying to reivent himselg

I think Stiles should keep his hair short as a sign of his growth. Every character goes through his/her changes and i feel like keeping Stiles as a short haired guy would keep him from the development that we all crave to see in him. Also for factual reasons the long hair should come in place, i imagine with all the time Stiles uses to research things and completely invest himself in the pack that he would’t have time to shave his head anymore. For all reasons i think that it would be better for Stiles to grow his hair out, not just for the fact that Dylan looks good in it.

I went for short hair … for now. Because it fits the character of Stiles at this moment in time. However, I’d like to see Stiles grow as a character (and with that grow his hair out, because these things could be connected) over the rest of the series.

I like Stiles with a buzz cut a whole lot more. I’d love to see Stiles buzzing his hair off on the screen before school starts, because that could be really dramatic. That’d be so cool to see. I also think the short hair really emphasizes that he’s really still just a kid. A kid who happens to have a sucky life.

well, I love him with short hair (a bit longer is okay too.)
But either one works for me! #TEAM_STEREK

I think that Stiles’ buzzcut is a character point for him. As much as I LOVE Dylan with long hair, and would be happy to see it, I think Stiles looks like himself with short hair, more than an actor. Also, I’ve always imagined that his mother died of cancer and that he first got his buzzcut when her hair started falling out, and I like imagining that Stiles keeps doing it as a way to remember his mom.

i can go for either way but if Stiles lets his hair grow it could be taken as a way of him saying….umm…’I AM A NEW MAN!’ sort of way. not litteraly but…gah hopefully youll know what i mean. i suck at explaining so….yeah either way but i will love to see some O’brien in thier to.

He should totally has long hair. Reason? It looks damn hawt! And it would be something else, would show that time has pasted by since ending from season 2. And no one’s keeping the same hair cut forever.

If he has long hair there should be a reason behind it since him cutting his hair and the fandoms have told me is because of the cancer his mom had. Theres got to be a reason behind it
