Gossip Girl will end its sixth season with one final “xoxo” and an extra-long finale. Plus, some familiar faces may be stopping by for one last appearance!
The CW has revealed that the season finale of Gossip Girl will be two, count ’em, TWO hours long, so that fans will have one extra golden hour to lament the parting of their favorite Upper East Siders. Just in time for the holidays, the series’ last episode ever will air on Monday, December 17.
The finale will begin its first hour with an homage to the show’s six-season run, with exclusive clips and interviews with the cast and producers. Immediately following will be the season finale, appropriately titled “New York, I Love You XOXOX.”
If that weren’t enough behind-the-scenes goodness, the two-hour extravaganza will feature an exclusive look at The CW’s new series, The Carrie Diaries, a prequel to Sex and the City.
What’s more, there are rumors that Little J and Eric will be making a return once again for GG‘s season finale. Taylor Momsen and Connor Paolo were recently spotted on the show’s set, and their appearance was confirmed by a tweet and picture of the pair by Kelly Rutherford (Lily van der Woodsen), who exclaimed, “My kids are grown up!!” Eric and Jenny have both been absent from the show for being abroad, as mentioned by both of their parents.
Could a family reunion be in line for season 6’s end? And will this finally be the episode when the omniscient Gossip Girl is revealed?!
Due to Hurricane Sandy, episode 6×04 was pushed back a week from its originally scheduled time. While you’re waiting, check out these sneak peek photos and a preview of “Portrait of a Lady Alexander.”
