Earlier this week Warner Bros. released some new Hobbit images through their App for the film. Check out a gallery of the 16 new Hobbit images.
We got our first look at Thranduil this week, Legolas’ father and the week prior we saw our first image of Hugo Weaving reprising his role as Elrond. Now we have even more images from The Hobbit: An Unexpected journey, with new images of all the dwarves, Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf. And just in case you missed it (unlikely), it was revealed recently that the films will now be a trilogy with the following names and release dates: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (December 14), The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (December 13, 2013), and The Hobbit: There and Back Again which will hit theaters just seven months later on July 18, 2014.
If you have an iOS device, we suggest checking out the official Hobbit App, as you’ll always be the first to see new Hobbit images and other interesting features.

The official synopsis for ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’
Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever…Gollum.
Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of guile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum’s “precious” ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities … A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.
