The most surprising thing about this post is that it was not written by Andrew.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001426435099 Louelle van Rens

      FACT.

    • Larry the lion

Everybody knows John is as big of an apple fanboy as Andrew is.

      • http://hypable.com John Thrasher

THANK YOU! I was going to post that but I’m glad someone knows me well enough to appreciate it! Larry the Lion ftw! :P

        • http://twitter.com/Celtise celtise

LOL sorry John. As a long term MuggleCast listener, I’m more familiar with Andrew’s interests than yours so far!

    • http://hypable.com John Thrasher

LOL! He asked me to write it, so does that count?

  • emgmpg

I think the iPhone 5 isn’t the upgrade of the iPhone line I was looking for. All they did was make the screen bigger and added LTE to it. All iOS 6 is adding is drive by drive navigation. It just seems like they’re just trying to catch up with the competition. Hopefully the next edition of the IPhone will impress me, but this one doesn’t.

    • http://hypable.com John Thrasher

      My thoughts exactly.

  • http://megan-conway.blogspot.com/ Megan Conway

I’ve been in need of a new iPod for a while now (I have a 2nd gen nano that is on its last days). I’m hoping to get a touch, but I kind of wish they came in 16gb too.

    • http://erictheperson.tumblr.com Eric Coppes

I’m sure they will be available in 16 gb. Probably just a bit harder to find, like with all the previous versions.

  • Lucija

I wonder why the ipod touch doesnt come with FM tuner?

    • http://hypable.com John Thrasher

My assumption is that they don’t have app store functionality like the touch and iPhone where Apple will want people to be buying their music rather than just being content with a radio?

      • http://twitter.com/ambersorensen ambersorensen

There are free apps for radio anyway.

  • http://twitter.com/bowski477 Jill

As an Android user I didn’t see much out of the iPhone 5 that I don’t already get with my droid. But I suppose if it says Apple people will stand in line forever to get it.

    • http://hypable.com John Thrasher

      I’ll preorder.

    • https://www.youtube.com/TheBabarSuhail Babar Suhail

      Same. Prefer Android to iPhone.

  • LadyStar

I’ve been meaning to get a nano for a while now and I like what they did with it.

  • JCman7

I want an iPad mini :( I really hope the rumors are true about an Oct event

    • http://hypable.com John Thrasher

They are basically all but confirmed at this point!

      • http://jimmypautz.com Jimmy Pautz

And every single leak about the iPhone 5 was true, so that makes the iPad mini more likely.

      • JCman7

True but rumors of a mini have been going on for about a year now

        • http://www.facebook.com/lilliempeterson Lillie Marie Peterson

WAAAAAY more than a year. About as long as the iPad has been around.

  • RSCAR

Call me crazy, but I kinda feel like apple is running out of ideas

    • http://forgiveyourmind.tumblr.com/ Tariq

Oh trust me, they have PLENTY of ideas. It’s a matter of taking the time to make sure when they become a reality they are perfect!

      • http://www.facebook.com/aaccss Alex Smith

oh please. They DOWNGRADED Wolfram Alpha (basically Siri’s father) so that they would be able to extend Siri’s longevity and be able to have features to release in the future (aka – iOS6) even though back when Siri was first released it had the capability to do much more than they released it with. That’s not plenty of ideas, that’s one idea that they hacked down to a smaller idea to make people think they’re continually renewing. When honestly, they’re just continually making people buy another iPhone that will be out of date in 2 years.

    • http://jimmypautz.com Jimmy Pautz

Yeah, this was probably the most boring press event that Apple’s had in a long time. Plus the Nanos are ugly.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Diego-Hernandez/539018211 Diego Hernandez

the nanos just looks like iPad micro’s lol

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1396140172 Caitlin Toner

Why is the iPod Touch on the same price scale as the iPhone 5?

    • http://hypable.com John Thrasher

The iPhone prices are with a new 2-year agreement. The iPhone retails at 400, 500 and 600 dollars.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1396140172 Caitlin Toner

oh, right! I forgot about that. thanks.

  • Ella

Even though the australian dollar has been on par with the american there is still such a price difference that is completely unfair in my opinion.

    • HeleeenaB

      Agreed!!

  • http://twitter.com/noah_ott Noah Otten

I’m glad I got a Galaxy SIII at the start of summer instead of waiting until now for the iPhone 5. Some cool upgrades, and of course there’s the new OS, but I’m not really all that impressed. The SIII has an exponentially larger screen (almost 5 in), is insanely thin (8.6 mm), and is unbelievably fast (and I don’t even have Jelly Bean yet). Plus, I have all of my music in the Google Play cloud for free, so it takes up zero memory on my phone.

The new iPhone will be a powerful device no question, and it looks undoubtedly slick; I mean, just looking at it makes me want one. I might go iPhone someday, but for now, I’m glad I didn’t.

  • Kristen

I’ve been waiting for the iPhone 5 release in order to finally upgrade from my terrible Blackberry Storm. However, now I’m unsure on whether to buy the iPhone 5, which doesn’t seem that different, or the iPhone 4S. Any suggestions?

    • http://www.facebook.com/lilliempeterson Lillie Marie Peterson

The way I see it, if this is your first iPhone you might as well go for the 5. That way you stay more up to date longer. You can skip models until the model you have is obsolete. I have the iPhone 4 at the moment and it will be obsolete next year so I’m upgrading. (Besides. I have newphoneitis,) If it’s a money thing get the iPhone 4 (free with contract) or the 4S ($99 with contract).

  • http://twitter.com/ambersorensen ambersorensen

Wondering why Apple stuff is on this website… It’s not “entertainment media” is it? Yeah, it basically is, but it doesn’t fall under any of your categories. *shrug*

In other news, I’m stoked as always for the new toys.

    • http://www.hypable.com/ Louie Schuth

Internet and Tech is one of our categories. We obviously aren’t covering this in depth but when there’s a big announcement such as this that we think our audience will be interested in, we’ll post it.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=17127641 Laura Jurgensmeyer

I’m glad you all posted it! It’s definitely something I’m interested in, and it’s nice to read a simple breakdown of the new features.

      • http://www.facebook.com/lilliempeterson Lillie Marie Peterson

Also. We are Apple fanboys and girls. Apple fandom anyone?

  • Rumbleroar Luna

I need a new iTouch. I can’t download most of the apps i the App store atm because they all require OpenGL Graphics 2 (I think) or iOS4.3 or higher (which I can’t download), or a camera, or they’re just incompatible with it. So I need a new one. Waiting for Christmas… Also colors! yippee

  • http://erictheperson.tumblr.com Eric Coppes

I might be the only person on the entire internet who feels this way, but I’m super excited about the new features and I can’t wait to upgrade my iPod Touch.

  • Guest

If I had that much money, I would just get the Wizard’s Colllection.

    • http://hypable.com John Thrasher

Okay now you’re making me want to not buy the iPhone and just go in on the Wizard’s Collection.

  • Julie L

I could honestly care less about the new iPhone (I am perfectly happy with my 4 at the moment) but I am super stoked about the new ipod nanos! They haven’t come out with a new model in a couple of years and I like the look of this one!

  • Serah

Maybe if I saved some money I would buy some of these, but it would take the whole time to iPhone 6. Prefer to spend cash for the next gen consoles, it will be a bloodbath.

  • Luke

    So. . . Bigger Screen? Clever Apple. . .

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=690341156 Andrew Davies-Land

    snore…

  • upper_westsider

I’ve only had my 4S for a few months and I’m not an early adopter anyway. I like that the 5 works with LTE networks, but 3G is good enough for now.

  • Mahadragon

I’m excited about the new iPod touch and those new headphones. They actually look like they will be really good.

  • Ian

I’ll probaby get the new nano. I have an 8 gig, and I don’t have enough space on it…

  • ariana steel

    wow

  • ariana steel

    I LIKE THE PINK ONE

  • ariana steel

    WOW
