Taylor Swift performed an emotional new song, “Ronan,” at Friday’s Stand Up To Cancer telethon in honor of a young cancer victim.
Swift wrote the song about 3-year-old Ronan, who died of neuroblastoma last year, after reading a blog post by his mom, Maya Thompson, who is credited as a co-writer on the song.
“I remember the last day when I kissed your face. I whispered in your ear, ‘Come on baby with me, we’re gonna fly away from here; out of this curtained room in this hospital. We’ll just disappear,'” Swift sings.
Other celebs who participated in the annual telethon to raise money for cancer research include Rob Pattinson, Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sofia Vergara, Matt Damon and more. Coldplay, Alicia Keys and Tim McGraw also performed.
Stand Up To Cancer is still taking donations on its website.
