ABC’s Good Morning America has announced that Twilight lead Rob Pattinson will be appearing on their show next week.

It’s the first time he’s speaking since Kristen Stewart’s public apology.

We don’t know for sure if Good Morning America will ask him about the cheating scandal that rocked the fandom several weeks ago. At this time we presume they will bring it up since it is a hot topic. He’ll appear Wednesday, August 15.

Pattinson will be there primarily to promote Cosmopolis, which hits theaters August 17.

A premiere for the film will be held earlier in the week – no word yet if he’ll be doing red carpet interviews.

    this should be interesting…

I hear they’re going to follow Rob with a mud wrestling match between Kristen Stewart and Rupert Sanders’ wife.  The ratings will be HUGE.

I think its too soon for him to be asked about this.

  • Kate

I highly doubt he’ll be asked about the scandal. It’s very likely they’ve been told explicitly not to ask anything about it, otherwise the interview would be over.

Unless of course this was all for publicity like some people like to say.

I think it’s highly unlikely his publicist would allow them to ask him the question. It’s totally irrelevant to the film he’s promoting. Maybe later on during the Twilight promotion, but his publicist would shut the interview down the instant the question was asked. I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to ask him though, then we’ll get video of him walking off stage, throwing his mic on the floor lol.

It would be completely inappropriate if they did ask him. I really don’t understand why people care so much about celebrities’ personal lives. Then again, I don’t get why people care so much about celebrities, period.

I don’t think they will ask him about the scandal, as it wouldn’t be appropriate, but mostly talk about his new film. This could be a bit awkward.

I hope they just leave him alone, it is really no ones business what is going on in his personal life. Just talk about the movie and remember that he is a person like everyone else going through a tough time. I also hope they dont refer to twilight at all, I think it takes the focus off his new movie.

I hope the interview will solely focus on the movie and Robert Pattinsons career. This is his first post-Twilight movie which received a lot of positive criticism. Personally I love him in it. It would be so sad that at the end the movie would be tainted because of the ugly scandal from a few weeks ago.

It’d be a short interview if they brought up the scandal. I’m pretty sure he’s going to promote the movie and leave. I’m going to try and tune in to watch though. I can’t wait for Cosmopolis.

Wow, is cosmopolis not out in America yet? It’s been out here for ages!
I highly doubt they’ll ask… His publicity people will probably have warned them not to ask

Yeah I bet his publicist will probably try to avoid it but that hasn’t stopped reporters and interviewers in the past. Like when Robin Roberts kept asking Chris Brown about his scandal, or when an interviewer kept trying to pull answers about Kim Kardashian out of Kris Humphries. So I think it will definitely be referenced but Rob will probably try to divert the answer back to his new movie.

I agree that it would be tacky for them to try and ask about “CheatingGate” (since apparently every so-called scandal has to have “gate” at the end of it). But it’s pretty much guaranteed that he’s going to get asked something Twilight related. It’s impossible for either Rob, Kristen or Taylor to do an interview without Twilight being brought up. It’s pathetic, but it’s inevitable.

Maybe it’s wrong but I feel bad for him.  He’s a good actor though I think.  I like his films that I’ve seen so far.
