Catherine Tate returning to ‘The Office’ as series regular

The somewhat aloof character of Nellie, played by Catherine Tate, will be returning to The Office in season 9 as a series regular!

TVLine.com is reporting the exclusie news, saying that Catherine will return full time in the fall. Though nothing has been confirmed by NBC yet, sources close to TVLine are saying it’s a done deal!

Catherine joins the rest of the series regulars this upcoming season, minus Mindy Kaling who is heading to Fox with her new show The Mindy Project.

She grew me on as the season went on. As long as they don’t overplay her, I think she’ll be a good addition. Sad about Mindy though :(

I really don’t like her character on the show. The best was season 2 and I feel like they have drifted so far away from what the show was like then. I hate to say it but I think it’s time for The Office to have its final season.

When I was scrolling down I saw “Catherine Tate Returning to…” and couldn’t see the rest. My mind completed it with “Doctor Who,” and I thought, “How are they going to pull THAT off, and is it a one-episode cameo?” And then I saw the rest of the title. I’ve never really watched The Office, either the British or American versions. Is it worth getting into?

  earlier seasons of the american office were brilliant, but in the past few seasons it’s really gone downhill in my opinion. its a shame.
