Stanley Tucci and Leven Rambin reunited on the set of Percy Jackson & the Olympians: the Sea of Monsters. Several pictures turned up online of the cast filming a dinner scene at Camp Half Blood. Check out the pictures below!

Just Jared Jr posted several pictures. Check out the rest there.

  • DreamNox58

I loved the first movie so I hope this one is just as great.

    • blablablah

thankyou for some positivity here. haha

I actually liked the first one too!! im happy for this. I just hated the whole Vegas Scene

    • FairyCutie86

Me too! I’m glad to see a few people who liked the first movie. To be honest, I actually liked it better than the book.

    • Teranel

I liked the first one too (and yes, I did read the book first). It wasn’t the best adaptation, but I’ve seen much worse.

    • Voldy

I really think that adapting the Percy Jackson series into a film is really hard. Almost every chapter we are introduced to monsters. It’s so action-packed and a lot of things are happening at the same time. They can’t do all that in a film. I know we are expecting a more faithful adaptation but I think the new director is making up for the first movie.

      • PotionWillow207

I agree. There’s going to be a lot of exposition in this movie. There has to be for the series to continue since almost every throughline from the series was cut from the first movie.

I’m still super-angry that Leven Rambin isn’t Annabeth >_< lol

I couldn't even watch all of The Lightning Thief. It was just too sad and frustrating =/ I think they should've just let this series die completely.

Who is Tucci playing? Dionysus, perhaps?

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Abigail-Bryant/1648393716 Abigail Bryant

There’s a bottle of Guinness on the table, so possibly no…. Isn’t book 2 the one with Tantalus? Could he be him?

  • Zach

    Why is this continuing?

  • Plat

lol I cant believe theyre continuing. the first one sucked.

    • PotionWillow207

It didn’t suck. It was a pretty good movie; it just wasn’t the book.

      • http://twitter.com/greeneggsplusam Sam

If by “didn’t suck” you mean “was an abomination”

        • PotionWillow207

No, actually I don’t. Separate from the book it wasn’t bad for a kids’ movie. The reason most people say it was so bad is because it was so different from the book. But that’s Rick Riordan’s fault for not being more strict when signing over the rights.

It amazes me how Stanley Tucci morphs into his characters so well.

  • Dreamer

I’m so nervous that this movie will end up like the first one. It’s not that I hated LT as a movie (I had a lot of friends who’d never read the books who really liked it) but I hated how much they deviated from the book. But, crossing my fingers!

    • Jesse

You mean how they read the back cover of the book and thought that would be enough to go off for the movie haha.. I am convinced they did not read the book.

      • Guest

The original comment says that they did not read the book in the first place…..

        • http://twitter.com/VeronicaADuff Veronica Duff

The first person said her friends hadn’t read the books and yet liked the movie.
The second person suggested that the movie producers only read the back cover of LT and came up with the plot for the movie from that much of the story.
Two different groups, no reading happening.
Captain Clarification to the rescue! *cues Superman theme because she’s too lazy to compose her own*

      • gcw07

Yeah I don’t think they read it either. Or if they did, it was a different version from what I read. Just hope this one doesn’t change the plot so much.

  • rdh014

The movie did surprisingly well in reviews and in the box office, so I am not surprised at all that they continued with the series. The fans will come out and see it, regardless of how they felt about the first film. :D

    • http://twitter.com/dreamfall31 Kevin Slechta

If you consider $88 million and a 49% on RT a critical and monetary success, then yes they will probably make the whole series!

      • Rdh014

Ha! Well compared to how most movies are rated on RT, I do! And the film grossed something like 200 million world wide.

Any one know who Stanley Tucci is playing? All it says on imdb is rumored and that photo shows he’s in it, but who he’s playing?

    • BlueBronze

If I had to guess from that photo, he’s playing Dionysus.

      • BlueBronze

Actually, someone below suggested Tantalus, which is also a possibility.

  • Voldy

Maybe he’s playing Dionysus ’cause there’s another pic of him holding a beer and Tantalus can’t even get a food/drink. There have been set stills too of the Camp Half-Blood and, it isn’t in a U-formation. But the archery is there and training area.

    • PotionWillow207

I didn’t see that picture. Is there a link? But even if he’s holding a beer in one image that doesn’t mean it’s while they’re shooting. All of these shots were taken in between takes from the look of it.

And Dionysus wouldn’t be allowed to drink beer anyway. In the books he only drinks Diet Coke.

      • Voldy

Well, here: http://pjnews.tumblr.com/post/23371953043/stanley-tucci-esta-gravando-o-mar-de-monstros-como I don’t think Stanley Tucci will hold a beer for no apparent reason between takes. And yes, Dionysus isn’t allowed to take in liquor but it can be one of those things that will most likely be a change in the film. I’d rather it be him than Tantalus to be present in the film. I’m just stating my opinion. Anwyay, here’s the set photos: http://pjnews.tumblr.com/ (Just scroll down or click for the next page).

        • PotionWillow207

Um, maybe he would be holding it because he’s drinking it? Surprise, surprise. Sometimes there’s a long time between takes and actors get thirsty.

          • Voldy

Thirsty and drink beer? The beer that looks like exactly what’s on the pic on this post? I think it’s unlikely they’ll introduce Tantalus if the Camp Director himself isn’t on the first one.

Additional info: Douglas Smith (plays Tyson) tweeted: http://twitter.com/#!/douglasthesmith/status/202096594865233920 . They’ll include Colchis bulls. Yay.

  • http://twitter.com/altonium Alton de Jesus

Stanley Tucci is everywhere. He makes a name for himself by playing in these YA stories.

    • Voldy

He already made a name in the industry even without these YA movies. But yeah.

  • Jess

I actually liked the first movie. I read the books after I had seen it, and while it was no wheres close to the book, it was still a good movie. I’ve seen adaptations that were just horrible (Eragon anyone?)  At least the first movie was good even though it didn’t follow the books.

Honestly, I’m just excited for more Jake Abel.

  • http://twitter.com/greeneggsplusam Sam

Here’s hoping they actually read the book before writing the screenplay this time…

  • Whitemit000

Ok 2 things are really starting to scare me.
    1) y r there so many pics of grover with the other charicters on there tumbler. This makes me think they are going off plot again and that would kill this movie too.
    2) why is the Manticore in this movie? ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1854564/ ) two possibilities. one they are planning on messing up the plot of the whole series or two they are overlapping this movie into The titans curse. But why would they do that. Maybe to add part of the demigod files in to one of the movies? Idk
