Those that have already seen The Avengers will know why The Incredible Hulk has been gaining steam lately. The Green Goliath has re-captured the heart of the fans, and the unmitigated and sudden popularity of the character may have given Marvel a change of heart regarding another solo outing.

Thanks to Forbes (via CBM) for this interview with Marvel producer Paul Gitter!

“It’s just like you would think — Iron Man and Captain America sell more than Thor,” says Gitter. However, The Hulk may soon surpass them all. Marvel executives have been “pleasantly surprised by the phenomenal response” to this green superhero, and expect this fan affinity to further strengthen once the movie opens. “His sales are up in a major way. We repositioned him from where he was always misunderstood to now depicting him in a more heroic and aspirational manner,” says Gitter.

If Hulk’s successful turnaround continues, Gitter says Marvel “will spin him off to a stand-alone program next year,” supported by a big budget franchise movie in 2015.

Would you pay to see Mark Ruffalo return to play Bruce Banner and “the other guy” in a sequel? Would they keep the cast from The Incredible Hulk after deciding to replace Norton with Ruffalo?

Hey, they did it with Terrence Howard in Iron Man 2, so anything is possible.

This with a Hulk TV show on the way may mean that we’ll get more of The Hulk in the coming years than any other Avenger.

Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner was a match made in heaven – Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk is freaking epic!!! They finally found the perfect actor to play the role of Bruce Banner where he is just as interesting as The Hulk :)

I would definitely go and see a Hulk movie if Mark Ruffalo was the lead!

Mark Ruffalo is not suitable for the role of Bruce Banner they shouldn’t be embressing Ruffalo instead they should embrassed Ed Norton.

Mark Ruffalo did an awesome job as Banner. I’ve seen the other two resent Hulk movies, and they didn’t quite get me interested in the character to care enough, but when I saw Ruffalo in Avengers I was immediately sold. Dude deserves his own movie!

Kind of a random place to ask, but since this seems like something new Hypable is covering. If a TV show is cancelled that Hypable covers like for example Fringe has only 1 season left, will Hypable remove it and begin to cover a new one? I was curious. Would they take on a new show that became popular in the next TV season. We haven’t seemed to arrive at this problem yet because Hypable came out around this time a year ago. Wondering.

Thanks for getting in touch. If a new show comes about that gets a lot of our readers excited then we will aim to cover it as soon as we can. It isn’t really a case of one out, one in – we just cover what you guys want covering! For example, in recent weeks we have added Elementary, The Newsroom and American Idol because a few of the news titbits we’ve posted has had a great response from the visitors. If you want us to start regularly reporting certain shows shoot us an email or tweet. If enough people do the same, you’ll notice the fandom popping up in news posts!

If Liv comes back as Betty, I’m down with it.

I have absolutely no interest in Marvel hoopla but, if Mark Ruffalo returns to play him again, I will absolutely go. He was amazing in Avengers. Loved him.
