After her Les Miserables deal fell through, and a successful part in The Lorax, Taylor Swift continues to search for film roles.

This new one, if she takes it, will be her first entry into the drama genre.

Swift is considering a role in Girls Like Us, a film based on the book by Sheila Weller.

From Variety:

Pic examines the careers of singers Mitchell, Carly Simon and Carole King. Swift does not have an official offer, but has been linked to the Mitchell role for several months as other actresses have auditioned to play Simon and King, including Alison Pill (“Midnight in Paris”) for the latter singer.

Have you read Girls Like Us? And if so, do you think Swift would be a good actress for the role?

You guys linked the wrong book, it’s http://www.amazon.com/Girls-Like-Us-Simon-Generation/dp/0743491483/ref=pd_cp_b_2. I haven’t read (or even heard of) the book but it looks interesting! Especially since it has obvious ties to singer/songwriters, it seems like it might be a nice tie-in to her singing career.

I haven’t read the book, but I love Joni Mitchell and I’m not a huge fan of Swift, so I’m not too excited..
