The wolfpack is coming back for its third and final installment! More details after the jump.

Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis will reprise their roles as Phil, Stu and Alan, respectively, for the third Hangover film.  The film is set to be released on May 24, 2013.  Todd Phillips will return to direct and write the screenplay.  As of now, there is no word if Justin Bartha will return to play his role of Doug.

From Deadline:

Phillips said, “I’m so excited to embark on another ‘Hangover’ film with Bradley, Ed and Zach. We’re going to surprise a lot of people with the final chapter we have planned. It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions.”

Production will begin this September.

Are you excited for a third Hangover installment?

    Oh, dear god, no!

Is this really necessary? The first one was a masterpiece. They never should have even made a second one. This one better not have the same exact storyline again.

Agreed. Nowadays Hollywood seems to do sequels and not much else.

Supposedly the creator had an idea for the third installment when filming the second. And I guess he has also said that the template wont be the same.

I read somewhere in an interview after the second one came out, that they are considering Allan getting trapped in an insane asylum or something like that and they have to get him back

Haha, that could actually be pretty funny. As long as they actually show scenes with Alan and he’s not gone from the whole film like Doug! Of course all my favorite scenes are always with Alan and the other two guys.

The problem with the second one was always the fact it was rushed out. He had just gotten off of Due Date and started filming the second movie and I’m sure by that point he was zapped so things got sloppy and careless – plus they filmed in certain parts of Asia which is ALWAYS nerve-racking. If you craft an awesome script and don’t rush it and let the actors a lot of room to go off script you may make one funnier than even the first one. its a big IF but maybe.

    ew why.

I’ve heard a rumor that part III could be set in Amsterdam or Dublin, which is cool because they haven’t done something in a European city environment yet
