Tumblr, Darren Criss, and Crazed Fans: Beach photos spark frenzy

Tonight the world of Tumblr is a blowin’. Glee star Darren Criss is all over the blogging site because of a recent beach photoshoot.

Over 300 photos of the actor appeared on Tumblr today and after a impromptu video by blogger Tyler Oakley the world has come to know all about it within hours. People are calling it the Darren Criss Sex Riot, likely because in the majority of the photos Darren is shirtless and wet on a beach.

As of yet I haven’t discovered the reason or publisher information about the shoot but one thing is clear: Darren’s popularity is bound to go up with this riot!

They’re out takes from his People magazine shoot – a fansite owner bought them from the photographer and released them online. Just in case anyone’s wondering where they came from all of a sudden.

Yes I saw this last night. Yes I participated in the sex riot. I regret nothing.

The photos* are the outtakes from People’s sexiest man alive photo shoot in which Darren came in 3rd. These were outtakes. Let that sink in. There’s also a great video from the behind the scenes you can find on youtube. But be warned, you may make inhuman noises as Darren is sexy-shirtless-beach frolicking one moment to doing an impromptu interview about the importance of intelligent conversation.

All I can say is that Darren is perfection and Tyler Oakley is my spirit animal.
Also, it’s fun being dramatic on the internet isn’t it?

Ok, this is probably just me, but I find that I have ceased to find him attractive… I agree, he’s beautiful… but I don’t know.. kind of too beautiful? So that I don’t find him hot?? Strange, because I, too, found him supermegafoxyawesomehot in AVPM.

This post is kinda amusing to me, I have a feeling whoever wrote it is not a member of the tumblr community or else they would know that ‘sex riots’ happen pretty much anytime new photo shoots of attractive celebrities are released, not just partly naked photo shoots. And I don’t really think this photo shoot is going to raise Darren’s popularity in any grand scale because the people who see these pictures for the most part already love Darren and a few shirtless pictures of him are not going to change most other people’s minds.

And I think you should give credit to the girl who made them available. A little bit of research could lead you to all the correct information.

  I wrote this right when I saw Tyler’s video yesterday, and I had tried researching where exactly the photos came from but came up short. If I could personally edit that note at the end about the source I would.
  
  Also, I know a few people who saw these photos and said they didn’t know exactly who he was or what show he’s on (they don’t follow Glee) but now they’re really interested in finding out.

  I would say that in my opinion this was a larger sex riot than usual. As someone who loves tumblr, things got crazy. And that’s saying something. I think it’s mainly due to the fact that all of Darren’s shirtless pics prior to this were largely just goofy fun stuff, not purposeful, sexy, pro shots. Throw those out to a group of young people on the internet during a glee hiatus, and boom, internet history made.
