Over the past couple of weeks we’ve been telling you about CW’s new pilot The Selection which is drawing comparisons to The Hunger Games.

As of today, the lead male actor has been chosen.

Deadline reports that Ethan Peck has been brought to play Prince Maxon. The show “centers on America Singer (Aimee Teegarden), a poor young woman who is chosen by lottery to participate in a competition to marry Prince Maxon (Peck) and become the next queen of a war-torn nation at a crossroads. Maxon has an unusual run-in with potential bride America and is impressed and intrigued with her honesty and moxie.

Aimee Teegarden was cast as American Singer just a couple days ago.

An insider recently described the show as also pulling elements from the reality show The Bachelor.

sounds more like the Bachelor than Hunger Games… and sounds just as terrible as the Bachelor, plus the guy looks just like a pale version of that guy from Smallville. ::sigh:: CW…
