NBC has cancelled Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist after just two seasons— but the cancellation might not spell lights out for the series.

Fans of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist were delivered some bad news on Wednesday (June 9) when NBC revealed it had opted not to renew the musical dramedy for a third season.

Showrunner Austin Winsberg took to Twitter to confirm the news in a series of tweets in which he urged fans to make some noise in an attempt to find Zoey a new home.

“I refuse to believe the show is dead. There is too much love and goodwill and the fanbase is incredible. Now here is what I need. I believe we can have a real chance somewhere else. But the more fan support we can throw behind it— the better,” tweeted Winsberg. “Please tweet #saveZoeysplaylist. Let’s get it trending and let the powers that be know the appetite is strong. Also open to any other suggestions to prove the love.”

Winsberg isn’t the only one who’s hoping someone might step up and save Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.

In addition, a spokesperson for Lionsgate Television (who co-produces the series) also weighed in.

“In a world where finding loyal and passionate audiences is never easy, we believe there. Must be a home for this great, award-winning show with a passionate and dedicated following,” said the studio.

No one has swooped in to save Zoey from ultimate cancellation just yet, but we’ll be crossing our fingers that another network will pick the series up in NBC and Peacock’s stead!
