Zoe Kravitz has found her next starring role with Disney.

Zoe Kravitz might be heading to Hogwarts for her next big screen role as part of the cast of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, but the actress will soon be singing a different tune.

According to Billboard, Kravitz has officially signed on to star in Disney’s upcoming reboot of High Fidelity.

Earlier this year we learned that the studio was working on adapting the hit 2000s romantic dramedy (originally based off of Nick Hornby’s novel of the same name) for the small screen. More specifically, the adaptation is gearing up to premiere as part of the lineup for Disney’s upcoming online streaming platform.

In the film, John Cusack stars as Rob Gordon — a moody record store owner with a deep love of music and pop culture, and an affinity for curating Top 5 lists. The story follows Rob’s journey of trying to figure out why he’s so unlucky in love as he retraces his romantic steps to get to the root of why his relationships keep failing.

Disney’s upcoming television adaptation will come with a twist, however. This time, the story will center on a woman and that woman will be played by Kravitz.

Though we’re sure Kravitz’s casting will pique the interest of many who are fans of the actress thanks to her work on such series as HBO’s Big Little Lies, fans of the original film will likely find another reason to be intrigued by this casting choice.

Kravitz’s mother Lisa Bonet actually played the character of Marie De Salle, a singer whom Rob has a one night stand with, in the original film. Though she won’t necessarily be following in her mother’s footsteps, it’s definitely a fun fact to keep in mind.

Though Kravitz joining the cast may pique the interests of potential viewers, there’s no denying that direction Disney is planning to take with their rendition of High Fidelity has raised a few eyebrows amongst fans of the film and of the original novel.

More specifically, there’s worry when it comes to the idea of Disney’s plans to make their version a bit more family friendly — a tone that doesn’t necessarily capture the true spirit of the original.

We’ll be curious to see whether or not Disney can pull the feat off!
