Not even a week after leaving One Direction, Zayn Malik debuts as a solo artist. Check out the demo for Naughty Boy’s “I Won’t Mind,” which features the young singer.
One Direction fans are mourning the fact that one of the original five members, Zayn Malik, has decided to leave the group.
The announcement was made during 1D’s world tour; Zayn said in a statement that this felt like “the right time” to leave the band, and that he wanted to “be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.”
However, this statement seems somehow contradicted by the fact that Zayn is now working with British producer Naughty Boy on a new single, titled “I Won’t Mind.”

It’s got a good sound, right? Malik is certainly a talented artist. And if this is just the demo, think what the finished product will sound like.
At the same time, we can’t help but wonder how Zayn’s solo ventures are a) relaxing and b) make him feel more like a normal dude. But hey, whatever makes him happy, right?
Clearly, however, there is some tension between Naughty Boy and the remaining One Direction band members:

Let’s hope everything works out! We’re sure Zayn Malik fans are relieved that he’s still making music, at any rate.
