Justice League director Zack Snyder is teaming up with Netflix for his next project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zack Snyder is set to direct and produce an upcoming zombie horror thriller for Netflix called Army of the Dead.

Snyder will be producing the project alongside his wife, Deborah Snyder, under their Stone Quarry banner.

The film marks the first big project the couple have undertaken since Snyder chose to step back from finishing 2017’s Justice League following the death of their daughter.

In an exclusive interview with THR, Snyder spoke of how excited he is to get to work on Army of the Dead.

“I thought this was a good palate cleanser to really dig in with both hands and make something fun and epic and crazy and bonkers in the best way possible,” said the director.

Army of the Dead takes place in Las Vegas amidst a zombie outbreak. There, a man decides to assemble a group of mercenaries who choose to venture into the quarantined zone of the city in an effort to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.

The screenplay for the upcoming zombie flick was written by Joby Harold from an idea that Snyder himself came up with.

We’ll be looking forward to seeing what Snyder does with the new Netflix title — especially given that he’s no stranger to helming zombie movies. The director made his debut with 2004’s Dawn of the Dead, so in a lot of ways this project is a bit of a full circle moment.

There’s currently no word on when we can expect Army of the Dead to hit Netflix.
