Zac Efron (Hairspray), Leslie Mann (Knocked Up), and Jason Bateman (Arrested Development) are in the talks to star in the upcoming Adam Shankman (Hairspray, Rock of Ages) directed film adaptation.

Goldie Hawn (Private Benjamin) is also in the talks to join the other three actors. Efron would be reunited with Mann, who also starred in 17 Again .  Warner Bros. and Paula Weinstein will produce.

This is Where I Leave You is based off of the comedic novel of the same name by Jonathan Tropper.

Deadline reports:

[The film is about] four siblings who come home to sit shiva for their deceased father. They are trapped in the house for seven days, and all the skeletons are bared. Tropper, who memorably adapted Harvey into a script that once had Steven Spielberg committed to direct, adapted his own novel. It is a script that is drawing interest from a lot of talent, with other stars expected to step up for other roles in the ensemble.

Hawn would play the mother, and Mann, Efron, and Bateman would play three of the siblings.
