Netflix’s You is adding Scott Speedman in a signifiant role for season 3!

According to Deadline, actor Scott Speedman has officially joined the cast of You season 3 at Netflix.

The first two season of the hit series (originally a Lifetime original before Netflix swooped in and saved it following cancellation) were based off of author Caroline Kepnes’ books, You and Hidden Bodies.

The last we saw of Joe, he’d ditched the Big Apple in favor of heading west toward Los Angeles to start a new life with an all new identity. It’s there that he meets Love— the woman who becomes his brand new obsession. As viewers who tuned in to the series’ second season on Netflix know, Love isn’t as innocent as she seems on the outside.

Currently, Kepnes is in the process of writing the third book in the series, which means that there’s no roadmap fans of the show can turn to when it comes to trying to theorize about what we might see in season 3. That also means that it gives showrunner Sera Gamble more creative freedom with regards to where she might want to take Joe (Penn Badgley) and Love’s (Victoriad Pedretti) story next.

As for Scott Speedman, the Animal King alum is set to take on the role of Matthew in You season 3. Matthew is described as a successful CEO, who also happens to be a husband and an uncommunicative father. He is reserve, mysterious at times, and can often be withdrawn, which subsequently transpires in a character who masks a lot of the emotions going on deep down underneath.

We’ll be looking forward to seeing what transpires when Matthew’s path crosses with that of Joe and Love!

Currently, there’s no word on when we can expect You season 3 to debut via Netflix.
