This fandom started in 1997 when Sorcerer’s Stone was published as J.K. Rowling’s debut novel. It’s funny now that we think of it, because that’s merely a year away from when the Battle of Hogwarts started! It began as a simple children’s book about an eleven year old boy who just started to discover who he was, but like Harry the readers started growing up and it ended as an epic series that inspired boys and girls, grandmas and grandpas, readers and non-readers alike. Harry Potter isn’t just a book, it’s not a series that will die with nothing but a whisper to remember it by; it is and always will be part of our lives forever. There are lessons to be learned in these books and films that are invaluable to kids today: Never give up, never stop trying, and always believe in not only yourself but your friends and family as well – for they are there for you even in the darkest times.

Rowling never knew how loved her characters would be when she first created the story, and here we are 15 years, eight movies, and one (soon to be two) theme parks later; still hypnotized by the epic battles and lovable characters of Hogwarts. Despite the fact that we’re all hoping and begging for more Potter information like encyclopedias, novels, short stories and the like, we at Hypable are content with the gifts J.K. Rowling has given us all: A story to live and learn by and an experience like no other.
