The classic strategy version of XCOM gets an October release date while the first-person shooter reboot of the series gets delayed once again.

2K Games announced today that XCOM: Enemy Unknown will release in North America October 9 and internationally October 12.

Preorder bonuses were also revealed with the Elite Soldier Pack containing aesthetic upgrades for your armor and full color customization along with access to a classic character from the original XCOM and The Special Edition that will be exclusive to PC and pack an art book, poster, patch and miscellaneous downloads.

Unfortunately for the 2K Marin-developed XCOM shooter reboot, it was delayed once again. The game won’t release until at least the 2014 fiscal year, which starts April 1, 2013 and runs to March 31, 2014, says Take-Two.
