X-Men: Days of Future Past’s first official trailer has just been released starring Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, and more.
We had a very short look at X-Men: Days of Future Past’s trailer last week thanks to director Bryan Singer, but today we have the first official trailer for the film. Watch the X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer below:
The first trailer gives us some great looks at essentially all the characters that we’ll be seeing in the X-Men sequel. Many of the actors we saw in X-Men: First Class are back, but Singer has added so many more characters using the film’s time travel element that it looks to be stuffed with mutants.
This is the nearly the same trailer that premiered at San Diego Comic-Con in July where virtually the entire cast made a surprise appearance to the delight of the huge crowd. It seems Wolverine will be sent back in time (rather his consciousness) instead of Kitty like in the comic the film’s title is based on.
X-Men: First Class was well received by critics and fans of the previous X-Men films, and we have to imagine with director Bryan Singer back on set that this film will go over well with audiences. He recently stated that while there is a “great deal of humor, the overall tone is a bit darker than previous films, particularly because of the stakes.”
Recently we received more than a dozen HD images from the film, including some looks at actors like Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender behind-the-scenes. Director Bryan Singer has done an excellent job using social media to promote this sequel and we imagine it may continue as we head to the film’s release date.
X-Men: Days of Future Past’s release date is set for May 23, 2014. The film stars returning actors Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, McAvoy, and Fassbender. Also rejoining the X-Men franchise are Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, James Marsden, Ellen Page, and Hugh Jackman. Fan Favorite Peter Dinklage will be playing one of the villains in the film.
Reads the official synopsis, “The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past — to save our future.”
