Fox has announced that the X-Men: Days of Future Past DVD and Blu-ray will be released on October 14, but more importantly they’ve revealed that the film will have an extended edition available in 2015.

After Fox confirmed that X-Men: Days of Future Past would be hitting store shelves on October 14, their EVP of Marketing Communications, James Finn, revealed that the X-Men: Days of Future Past extended edition “is coming next year.”

James Finn indirectly confirmed that the film would have an extended cut, something that the studio hadn’t revealed yet, in the tweet seen below:

There was some talk that X-Men: Days of Future Past would have an extended edition, especially when it was revealed that during the editing process Rogue’s character had been cut from the film entirely. But director Bryan Singer wouldn’t confirm or deny that he would be willing to make an extended cut of his latest X-Men film.

It will be interesting to see what is added into the extended cut, considering the film had so many character storylines, we imagine this could be one of the more exciting extended editions. We hope that Anna Paquin’s scene(s) are put back in the film, as we know a lot of her fans were disappointed to see them cut.

But for now we only know that X-Men: Days of Future Past’s extended edition will be released in 2015, with the theatrical DVD/Blu-ray being released on October 14. The film will also be available for digital download on September 23.
