If you loved the X-Men ’90s cartoon and subsequent video games, prepare to fall in love with a new X-Men project that is in the works!

X-Men: Apocalypse is coming out later this year, there’s another mutant-based project being developed that might get fans just as excited.

Animator Joel Furtado has teased his new project, X-Men: Danger Room Protocols, which when finished, will be an animated web series. The concept of the potential 18-episode series features Professor X putting two of your favorite X-Men in the Danger Room to face off against villains in various stages and settings familiar to the fans.

As if that weren’t enough, Furtado promises that the episodes are action-packed and give each character their moments to shine. He also notes that this web series was made out of his passion for classic animated series, and is no way affiliated or associated with Marvel.

Furtado has set up a Patreon page and promises to drop the first episode on January 19.
