X-Men: Apocalypse’s first trailer has been released, giving fans our first look at Apocalypse in action with loads of new and exciting mutants.

We thought we’d be waiting until Star Wars: The Force Awakens for the first X-Men: Apocalypse trailer, but director Bryan Singer has decided to release the first trailer today. Watch it below:

X-Men: Apocalypse’s first trailer takes our favorite mutants on a new timeline in which the villain Apocalypse is on his way to taking over the world. We see the most powerful mutant in Marvel’s X-Men universe wearing a unique costume, which differs from the comics, but we imagine he’ll be fairly impressive on the big screen.

Apocalypse is seen awakening after thousands of years, and he is obviously upset with what the world looks like. He decides to recruit a team of his own powerful mutants, which includes Magneto (Michael Fassbender), as they plan to cleanse the Earth of mankind and create a new world order.

We see some great shots of a young Storm, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, and an epic look at Archangel mid-flight. Storm is seen with her white eyes as she controls some lightning, and we get a few shots of Apocalypse himself.

When the young mutants worry they can’t control their power, Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique tells them: “Then don’t. This is war.”

A new poster for X-Men: Apocalypse has also been released, giving us an amazing look at Apocalypse crushing a skull.

X-Men: Apocalypse looks to be the biggest X-Men film we’ve ever seen, and with all the new mutants, as well as the old ones, we can’t wait to see what will undoubtedly be the most massive X-Men battle yet.

With Raven, played by Jennifer Lawrence, helping Professor X lead a team of young X-Men, they look like they’ll be doing their best to stop Apocalypse and Magneto from destroying the world and creating their new world order.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016. Let us know what you think of the trailer.
