Fans of Professor X, rejoice! The mutant, played by James McAvoy, will finally go bald in X-Men: Apocalypse.

X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer has released the first image of actor James McAvoy going bald for his role as Professor Xavier in his next film X-Men: Apocalypse. The bald jokes were strong and plentiful in the previous X-Men films, and now we get our first look at McAvoy as the bald Professor X. Check out the image via Singer below:

When Professor Xavier was portrayed by Patrick Stewart in previous X-Men films, he was always bald like he was in the X-Men comics, but when James McAvoy played a younger Professor X he always had a full head of hair.

In X-Men: First Class, there were multiple jokes about him going bald, and while he retained his head of hair in X-Men: Days of Future Past, it looks like the character will finally get his signature look back in X-Men: Apocalypse.

X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer has begun his mass social media promotion, as he did in X-Men: Days of Future Past, and we’re excited to see a bald McAvoy. The film takes place in the 1980s, and we can’t wait to see how the mutant will look on screen after the dramatic physical change.

We recently got our first look at Sophie Turner as a young Jean Grey, as well as our first look at Lana Condor as Jubilee. Both the actresses look amazing, but we’re really excited to see Sophie in a new role outside of Game of Thrones, where she’s been a fan-favorite.

Many new actors have joined X-Men: Apocalypse as exciting mutants, including Ben Hardy as Angel, and most recently Olivia Munn as Psylocke. This film will be chock-full of new mutants, and we look forward to seeing the young cast tackle the baddest mutant to ever exist. X-Men: Apocalypse will be released May 27, 2016.
