Simon Cowell has selected his two hosts for The X Factor’s live shows which are slated to begin in November.

Khloe Kardashian, currently seen on E! shows like Keeping Up With The Kardashians, will host alongside Extra’s Mario Lopez. In recent weeks, rumors strongly stated that Kardashian would nab the spot. Lopez had only come on board recently.

The X Factor’s second season has a very different talent line up than it did in season 1. Original judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger were replaced by Britney Spears and Demi Lovato in an attempt to boost ratings, and host Steve Jones was let go due to his lack of hosting abilities in a live environment.

TMZ believes that Kardashian and Lopez’s deals are each worth millions – a hefty cost to a show that already has a big talent budget thanks to Spears and Lovato.

Despite big changes, X Factor’s ratings haven’t seen huge boosts compared to last season. The show’s most recent episode garnered just over 9 million viewers. New episodes air this week on Fox Wednesday and Thursday at 8 PM ET/PT. We’ll see the pool of selected contestants enter the always-intense boot camp where they’ll be pushed to their limits.

Are Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian good choices for the show? We’re having a hard time seeing the latter helming a live event, whereas Lopez is experienced thanks to his long career with Extra.
